I am looking to put together a savage rifle in 358 Hoosier. The 358 Hoosier is a .215 shorter case than the 358 Winchester. I would like to know if it possible to cut the .215" off of a Savage 358 Winchester barrel and use it. Will I have to have the threads cut the .215" back for the locking nut? Or is there enough take up with out having to add the .215? Thank you much for your time.
