Outdoor Pistol Range in the Des Moines Area?

Check out the local Izaak Walton Leagues, most of them have gun ranges.

There's one in Ankeny

You can also check out the NRA Range finder and see what's around you. If all else fails head down to Scheels @ Jordan Creek and ask the guys in the gun dept. if they know of anywhere to go.

Just bought a new Gen4 G19, my first pistol and was itchin' to get out and shoot a bunch of rounds.

Talk to the boys at DAPS--the local USPSA affiliate. They'll have directions, concession information, locations of the coldest beer, and probably the biorythm of the park ranger for ya.
