Glock 20C and Sights

I recently purchased a Model 20C and installed night sights. I have been told the compensated barrel will ruin the sights due to the residue from the compensator ports. What is your thoughts on this or experience? I can replace the barrell if necessary as the compensated barrell is not a have to have feature. I also have compensator spray that is used on rifles which makes the residue easier to remove. Can you use this on the night sights? Thanks in advance.

The muzzle blast will spray carbon all over your front sight. The sight will eventually turn completely black but I would not consider that "ruined".
Comp spray or a thin coat of oil will allow you to easily wipe the carbon off the sight but it only lasts a couple times and then must be reapplied. This is the price you must pay for running a comp. The reward is increased muzzle control when compared to a stock barrel. Is it worth it...... only you have that answer?
