Refinishing after engraving

We have a really nice laser engraver at work... I'm thinking about using it to engrave my Glock, will I have to refinish over the engraved area? If so how would I go about this. Thanks,

Laser engraving is usually not finished over as it is not deep and is very likely to be damages or obliterated completely during a metal finishing process.

Also you probably won't engrave deep enough to hurt anything. Glock's tenifer treatment is in the metal itself so you shouldn't have to worry about rust. I just had my 33 engraved with my department patch and all I've been doing is just wiping it down with a coat of breakfree or eezox like I normally do.

Really depends on what type of laser your using.

Yag will burn and be deep, CO2 will surface etch only.

We use a Yag and will burn .010 deep into the material.

This was done by g29cc last year.
Daily wear in the holster. Looks great still!
