G22
.40 S&W
Hornady
Critical Defense
165 gr.
I had decided that I wanted a 165 gr bullet at around 1100 to 1200 fps based on recomendations from several sources and the theory behind the FTX controlled expansion bullet just makes sense to me.

165gr or 180gr Speer Gold Dots in my G22 and G23.
Both weights shoot and function great in both pistols so I buy whichever is available at the time.

Don't consistently carry a Glock as my retirement weapon.
When I do, it's either one of my G26's or a G27.
The ammunition is usually either Winchester T-Series or Remington Golden Sabre (non-bonded), whichever is closest at hand when loading magazines, since both have been issued loads. Bullet weight has varied upon occasion. I've sometimes used older style hollowpoints from both companies when the premium loads weren't available or easily at hand. Just depends.
While personally-purchased new factory ammunition is authorized for off-duty & retirement weapons, I've generally just gone with whatever was being issued for duty weapons at the time (availability) and focused my attention on mindset, skillset, training, practice & maintenance.
After some years of having been a firearms instructor and armorer for some different makes/models, I'm probably a bit less fussy than some folks about the particular make/model/brand of weapon and ammunition. As long as they're of modern manufacture, good quality and well maintained, I'm more interested in other things.

G23 Gen 3
40 S&W
Speer Gold Dot
165 gr
I like these best because of their track record an I figure if they are good enough for many levels of law enforcement they are good enough for me. I also like 135 or 180gr HSTs or 165gr Ranger Ts but usually opt for the Gold Dots because they are bonded.

Ditto. Ranger 127 +P+ also. But I am wearing an M&P 45c w/230gr Gold Dots right now.
When summer comes my EDC will switch to a PM9 with the 124+P Gold Dots.

Glock Ammo
Glock 27
.40 S&W
Winchester
Ranger (Law Enforcement Ammunition)
180 grain
Supposedly, these are the "replacements" for Winchester's old Black Talon ammo. But I was also drawn to these rounds because of ammo tests I've studied that show they always work--and work well. They're also less expensive than some of the newer types of self-defense ammunition (e.g. CorBon DPX). And of course, it states that its "law enforcement ammunition," which is always a good marketing technique with gun owners.
