Check inside your butt.
Today I shot my Saiga 5.45/AK-74 wanna be with surplus corrosive ammo.
I brought it home and got ready to clean it. Went to my shop out back, took it apart, and realized that I left my cleaning rod in the house. Went to the house, fetched the cleaning rod and started looking for my cleaning kit tube. Nowhere to be found. Not in any extra parts boxes, not in my range toolbox, not in my ammo crates. Hmm....Maybe it's in my mag pouch which is still in the trunk of my car - nope! I was really starting to get perturbed and had horrific thoughts of it falling out of my box at the range.

I went back in the house to look again....no luck. So I said screw it, I'll not run a brush down it and just do a few patches.
Walked back out to the shop, and as I picked up my rifle to take to the sink to rinse it out I heard a little rattle. I kinda went

, as I had removed the bolt, bolt carrier, sling, and everything else that could have jiggled and made sound. A split second later I knew exactly what it was.
Yup. The cleaning kit was inside my Bulgy plum stock, right where it should be.
I thought I was going to have to buy a $2 cleaning kit. Not today!
