2011 Kimber Catalog
I just saw the upgraded Royal and the HD super carry custom. I want one!

What is different on the SCC besides the black finish? I handled one at SHOT, they feel extremely good in the hand.
Wish their company would take some CS courses. They make some sharp guns, but in my experiences with them, they dont stand behind them all that often.

It's to bad Kimber does not offer a proper GI 1911A1
.........they would outsell the Springfield offerings (whatever a 'Mil-spec' is) 100:1 or so

The post is entitled "2011 Kimber Catalog". That might be a clue as to where the OP saw the guns noted.

I liked the new Royal II as well, until I found out how much it would cost; don't remember the exact figure but it was over $1500.
FWIW in my experience Kimber's CS is decent.

I believe the MSRP is closer to $1800.
It's a full on, polished, hot blue by Doug Turnbull.
So it'll be fantastic....
Although you could buy a $750 Kimber custom, replace all the MIM, blend a nice EB grip safety, then send it to Turnbulls for the same finish and likely still save a considerable amount of $$$.

It is not the same as the model shown on Kimber's site. The new version of the Royal II has a "charcoal" blue and bone grips.

Yes it does but for the same money you could have one that looks like this.
