Alright, I officially have my first AK in my possession. I won't be able to shoot it until later this week, but here is my initial review. Keep in mind that my only frame of reference for the AK pattern rifles is picking one up at a gun shop.
I am very impressed with the rifle overall. I was nervous about the comfort and fit of the folding stock, but it locks up very tight! I plan on doing some sort of paracord wrap to protect the face, but it is a very natural feel when shouldered. It is very nose-heavy compared to my AR... which means I just need to go to the gym more often. It came with lots of extras: Stripper clips, cleaning kit, Para bag, original furniture, bayonet, and a crappy sling. I will give a further report after I make it out to the range.
Now for a couple of questions... How do I clean the grease crap off of the magazines? They are not packed with it, but a couple of them definitely need a bath. Secondly, if there are any lefty's in here what do you recommend for a sling? I also want to add that the 5.45 looks bad***! Those long slender bullets are just awesome looking!
Finally, here are a couple of crappy pictures... I will get some better pics outside when I get it to the range.
