I keep my user name the same... makes it easier for me, plus it's fun to see the same people across different forums. How do you like the Gayle Bradley? I have a CF fetish, but I'm not sure I'm in love with that particular knife, yet. I just ordered a CF Stretch. Would LOVE to get a hold of a CF Manix and CF Military. Keeping my eye out for those.

The Gayle Bradley is a fine knife. The fit and finish is top notch and the action is butter. Beefy blade and a very strong tip. The texture of the CF has a nice look and feel to it. But I traded it for another Paramilitary. It felt bulky and heavy in my pocket. 5 1/2 oz. is not heavy (compared to my 1/2 pound ZT) but for the size of the knife it does feel pretty heavy too me. I'm just use to thinner and lighter when it comes to Spydercos. If you really dig CF though you might look into it. The newer Gayle Bradleys have drilled liners and are a little bit lighter. I sure would like to get a hold of a CF Military too. A local shop here had one CF BG-42 for $279.00. I really wanted it but I was there to buy a Sebenza that day. I ended up trading the Sebenza and now kicking my own *** for not just getting the CF Military.

Lum is YUM - Carbon Fiber Goodness!

Many of the photos I've seen of the Lum so far just don't do it justice. The CF pattern in the photos appears 2-dimensional.... almost a painted on "diamond-plate" look.

The real thing is very 3-dimensional. The surface is very smooth as if the CF is encased in clear acrylic.

So, I got my macro photo set-up out at the office and played with the lighting balance to see if I could bring out the real beauty in pictures. Here we go:

This photo has a flash flare reflecting back, but it demonstrates the very smooth glass-like surface.
The SHOT ShowCase

I just realized my settings on this photo were wrong, so it's a bit fuzzy... lost depth of field:
The SHOT ShowCase

OK... super close-up... If you use flat, balanced lighting, it flattens the appearance of the CF in photos and really belies the beauty of this material:

So, let's play with the balance of my ring flash and bias it to one side and see what happens. Now we can see some of the texture and depth:

Here's another angle from a bit further back:

Now we're talkin'!

And another:

Hope you all enjoyed! I'm tellin' ya... the Lum with the Nishijin Carbon Fiber is a work of art... a jewel. Hands-down the prettiest Spydie out there (IMHO).

Gayle Bradley!

It's the "Sherman Tank" of Spydies! Man, this thing is robust! "Built like a tank" really does describe the construction of this folder from Spyderco. And, it feels that way in the hand. It's not a lightweight!

Action is VERY smooth, and the blade is SICK-SHARP! The liner lock is difficult to disengage, though. Very stiff and there's not a big cut-out access like the Sage has, for example.

With no further ado...

Close-up of CF - pretty much identical to the CF on the Sage 1.

Bushcraft photos

Did a little photo shoot today of my latest arrivals, including a new G10 Bushcraft.

This is a hefty piece of hardware. The blade is beefy, and the handle just feels right in my hand. The weight and balance of the Bushcraft gives it a real sense of "authority." This is a REAL knife. Sort of reminds me of the line by Crocodile Dundee... "THIS is a knife." The SHOT ShowCase

The G10 is nothing like the G10 on my other Spydies. While it's smooth, it still feels grippy. At least dry, it feels grippy. And, it's very comfortable. The appearance of the G10 is very elegant. It looks like a more exotic material, but I can't say what.

OK... here are the pics:

Close-ups of the G10

The "tang" and G10 interface:

And, a close-up of the blade edge:

Short and sweet... hope you enjoyed!

nice collection and nice pics. its funny how quickly your "inventory" grew from the original posting. i have a sage 1, delica g10, and dragonfly 2. the sage is my favorite knife i own and my edc blade.

how do you like the g10 dragonfly vs. the dfly2?

My justification is that they're cheaper than guns! :D My SCAR-16S cost more than all my knives put together. I've been on a gun-buying break, so this is my current diversion.

The Dragonfly is a G10 version with steel liners. The D-fly 2 is an FRN model. I've only fondled them (got them today). The biggest difference is that the FRN model is much lighter. Super-light! They are nice little knives, though.

do you have a preference of one over the other? i have the dfly2 with frn handle, i was thinking about picking up the g10 version but didn't know if there was enough of a difference to warrant it.

i can't say enough about my sage, i'm so pleased with it i'm selling some of my protech autos to buy more from the spyderco line!

Just got my first Spyderco in the mail today, I love it for EDC

The SHOT ShowCase

I'm so impressed by the quality of Delica 4, especially considering how relatively cheap it was. Next, I wanna get nice strong fix'd blade by them...anyone have any suggestions?

I haven't yet carried either one. I got them both yesterday. Just fondled them, so far. But, I can say the G10 version is much heavier (by comparison). The G10 has steel liners. The FRN version is super light weight.

I would say (admitting my relative newbie-ness) the Sage is almost a "perfect" EDC knife.
