Combining front sight with rear sight from different makers?

I want to get a 10-8 brass bead front sight and combine it with the Ameriglo black steel rear sight which has the same profile as the standard Glock rear sight. Have any of you guys tried this? I don't like the rear sights that extend to the back of the slide, because when I carry the gun down my waistband they tend to dig into my stomach. Hence, my preference for the Glock-type rear sight. But I also want the brass bead. What do you guys think?

It sounds like a good set-up to me. I know the glorious S&W .357 Magnum Tactical Revolver uses a brass bead front sight!

AmeriGlo's website has a sight calculator...

You'll need the specifics of both sights, and you'll have to decide which sight picture you want--i.e., spot-on, or six o'clock hold--to proceed.

Be prepared to email or call the OEMs, as very often the specifications of sights are not offered, and when they are, they mix metric with SAE.

I've read posts here of folks using and XS Big Dot front sight along with a Glock OEM rear sight, and loving it!

Good luck! Let us know what you do and how it works!

try shooting a big dot 25 yards, good luck with that.

You will cover a lot of target.
