P-G:
i am now also using monovision shooting glasses, (aging eye) but we're reversed, as i am right handed and left eye dominant. it took me a while getting used to with my shooting glasses.
you might want to try this. by correcting your left/distance vision a little hyperopic, (+) lenses, to blur the targets a bit, your front sight focus will be sharper.
ex: if you are 20/20 for distance but need +1.50D correction for clear front sight focus, your typical monovision shooting prescription will be +1.50D for the right lens and plane glass or (0 diopter)/no grade for the left lens.
try +0.50D - +0.75D lens for the left lens. this will blur your far focus a bit but make front sight focus sharper for the left eye, a little less sharper than right eye focus, w/c simulates the effect of squinting/making the left eyelid smaller for precise aiming.
ganyan kami nila taurus and father poodle sa eye clinic. buti nga hindi nag open door ng clinic, the other patients waiting would have been shocked to see pistols inside the hospital! LoL!

Very logical Doc, and clearly (no pun int) stated that even a lay man like me understood it. I'll take your advise to my eye dr. This also means I wont need to learn to close my left eye to shoot, w/c should have been a lot of work for me..Thanks a lot bro

Jason, you scored 2 As here,
Very well thought out, specially your last sentence
Just Shoot is printed in front of all my Club uniform up-side down so i could always read it when worn, but failed to relate to it for a long time w/ this concern
Thanks

And your accuracy is very good. Remember marami half targets doon sa mga cofs and you shot them w/o much effort.
I think its better if you practice and balance it w/ the tachnical stuff and effectively combine the two
That should bring wonders in you game
You are young so its not that hard to do
Kelangan land dedication and perseverance
That is, if you are seriously commited to the sport.
|
Thank you Unlce PG, I need to improve on so many things. I don't think it is to come sooner. Yung dedication, perseverance at time ang malaking problema ko. As of now, I'll try to enjoy na lang muna.
Pero I've been learning a lot here from you and the guys.
Lowprofile, please contribute din ha.

Just an update:
I tried this set up in dry fire yesterday.
In just a few minutes, I developed a terrible head ache and felt very dizzy.
I re-do it this morning, same bad effect.
The feeling would not leave for several hours.
Moving around was ok and the sights were very clear in focus.
Maybe its the over all effect in my system that negatively reacts to it.
Im giving it a chance to work but it seemed difficult for me,
Will do it again this PM or tomorrow, the latest.

Doc, its not so high naman and the good news is that Theres a marked improvement on the comfort side. I wore it yesterday pm live firing and maybe because I used my right eye focus just for a few sec as I fire (as compared to dry fire w/c is more strenous) , ok na sya. I used up over a hundred rounds and I seemed ok. And this morning I dry fired it for 30min, I noticed the discomfort is minimal na. I experimented further and put a tape over the weak lens where my eye would see through the target and it seemed my strong eye focus on the f.sight is more intent w/o much effort.
thanks a lot bro!

hi Guys,
just in case nagsasawa na po kayo....
my matches in the midst of typhoon Quiel:
Mayor Bistek Cup and Mayor Jun Binay Cup, both lev 1 matches last 1-2 Oct
http://youtu.be/0LLcm4W8lA8
These were my first matches w/ my new-found visual set-up, weak eye a bit blurred w/ tape as blinders on my glasses. To me it had significant and very pronounced differences vs my usual set-up. Focusing on the f.sight was really faster w/ my aging eye. I was a bit tentative in my 1st stage but got very confident along the way. In fact I was a bit carried away by it in the 2nd day (last 5 stages in vid, Binay Cup) that I tested shooting as fast as my eyes could see the sights on mid to long range targets and got bitten by it, got 3 Ms on full boards
But I could tell you guys, this set-up is GOOD!

I was there morning and early PM. Natapos ako abt 2pm dun sa PN range.
Sayang di tayo nagkita,
You should have seen in person the miracle you did to me
I shot those long range targets faster than my usual pace as I could see the sights clearly on target
I could also see them some mis-aligned on A's and thought/hope the shots would hit a C or D,
Some did, but 3 didnt even touch the boards
This is a new experience to me w/ I think would have a + impact on my shooting.
