I lookd at it, i looked at it!

No, not an eclipse, my new Hornady bullet feeder! Just got home a little while ago, wanted to open the box right away but had to pet Dawg and give her a biscuit first... she missed her daddy.

Opened the box and was surprised to see a DVD for the feeder. If I can actually remember how to use the DVD player I'll watch it tomorrow. If I can't figure it out I'll get my grandson to show me how to turn it on. Damn kids, they know how to do all that stuff.

Ordered the .45 die with it, (waiting on .38/357 die) but noticed something in the die package that looked unusual. They send a powder funnel/expander with the die but it looked a bit different than the ones I have. When I compared the new one with my original .45 funnel I discovered that it's between 3/8 and a 1/2 inch longer. (Little Stevie would have whipped out his calipers for a precise measurement. Screw that, it's longer... trust me.)

I would imagine that with the longer length it will alleviate the problems some people have had adjusting it and may do away with the need for that nifty little gizmo Stevie got with his new machine.

Okay, get your quills and parchment ready for all the measurements so you can see if it will match up with the Dillons. Ready? HA! Ain't no way, at least not tonight.

Just got done with a 823 mile drive... I'm going sleepy-bye. I'll take a bunch of pictures as I take it out of the box tomorrow and hold pieces up next to the 550 and maybe the 1050 so you can get a better idea of how to mount it. May even throw a few measurements in just for giggles.

Jack

Congrats Jack. Can't wait to see how it works for you. I think I may give one a try next year.

I looked at the video and pictures at the Hornady site and it appears to be simply bolted to the bench. The only issue maybe hight. Guys running Dillon's with strong mounts may of course need a 4X4 or two to make it tall enough. Others may need to shorten it up. It looks like 1" or 3/4" square tube, common enough and simple enough to make as many mounts as you may need.

I see they have a new ultrasonic cleaner too. Looks great too. I really want one for certain cleaning tasks. I don't need it and probably wouldn't use it a lot. I hate to wait for cases to dry, but it is pretty cool.

I'm so envious. But I guess I should consider myself lucky that I'm not still using the Lee handloader/mallet process (and some call those the good old days). Enjoy the toy and good luck with the DVD!
