I saw my friend pop a doe in the head at 658 yards with her.

It was anterless season a couple of years ago, he set up some bowling pins where we were hunting. He hit the first shot at 750 yards on a bowling pin then a doe stepped out of the woods on the sidelines of the field.

By the time he got everything situated she had stepped down into a low place in the field all we could see was her head and an inch or so of neck. She had never even looked in our direction she seemed intent on the three white things standing on the side of the knoll.

I guess she had heard the 300 grain Sierra smack the hardwood of the bowling pin. But anyhow Rick asked me what range I told him approx 650 judging by where the pins were in relation to the doe. He fired and I watched through my spotting scope as dust, fur, and red mist puffed off her head with a dead center hit at the base of her skull.

Later that evening I shot one at 550 yards seemed like a chip shot with this rifle, I was hoping for a longer shot! LOL!

I tell you one thing your Uncle doesn't let em leave his shop until they are right.

I owned a .22-243 Middlestead Truman built for Rick and it's the most accurate rifle I've ever shot.

Yelp it just put a nice clean hole about 2" wide at the top of the neck and base of the skull. All the rest was in great shape.

He did tell me shot one once heading straight at him at about 400 yards and he didn't have to gut her just threw her up in the truck!

no website for Truman Wilson ( sorry guys ). he lives in Grand Junction Co. I would bet any gun shop within 100 miles could get in touch with him.

Would SOMEBODY PLEASE buy this thing so I can quit drooling all over my keyboard???? ! ! !

Besides...my friends are getting tired of me talking about how much fun it would be to tag a groundhog at 1500+ yds.

Yeah I was shocked when I saw him shoot it the first time he hit a bowling pin first from a cold barrel and every shot at 750 yards!

Then a different time we went out we popped 2lt bottles at 1000 yards most every shot.

It would surely take down a whistle pig at 1500 yards!
