BATFE approved bumpfire stock
Found this on another forum, haven't seen it posted here yet so I figured I'd share. Interesting, but not worth $300 to me.

Looks like the BATF deemed it illegal?
All you need is a rubber band, the post office ones are great. for holding mail of course.

They deemed Akins stock (for Ruger 10/22) illegal after approving it initially. This thing is different. With Akins all you need is to press the trigger. This thing doesn't have any moving parts, in addition to pressing the trigger you need to apply forward pressure on a forearm- the job that was done by a spring in Akins.
It’s a toy, and it doesn’t look to be ambidextrous, but I like the “selector” feature which locks the rifle to the stock and allows for some practical use.

I was going to say the same thing!!! Thats all I need is something that will make me spend even more money on ammo. It would be fun for a few days but trust me if you are not rich or dont have an ammo sponsor... f/a gets old real quick. .30 Think...cents a shot!
Plus didnt the Atkins stock get reniged by the BATFE a few years ago? Whats to stop them from renigging on this stock? No one got grandfathered so they all lost like $800 to $1000 on the Atkins deal I think? That being said I guess $300 aint bad?

Even if you shoot Wolf it's about $6 for a 30 round magazine. On FA a 30 round magazine lasts a couple of seconds.
Only way I would shoot a full auto is if it was a .22LR.

Why not just bumpfire normally if you are into turning money into 2 seconds of smoke and noise?
Full auto is fun but not $319 worth of fun. A tax stamp is $200... for the real thing... just sayin...

Just to be anal it's Akins, not Atkins. The diet is still legal per ATF There's more work required from the shooter to make this gizmo function so it might survive.
When ATF banned Akins Accelerator they requested the customers and manufacturer to surrender the springs, not the whole thing. They never outlawed the stock itself and this is precisely what the gizmo in question is: Akins minus the spring.
Here’s what I don’t understand. If the receiver recoils within this stock-grip assembly what is it exactly that houses the safety spring plunger?
By the way. The Akin’s saga is A) an example of dangers stemming from an unbridled government and B) the reason the elitist NRA wipes are not going to see a single red cent from me.

If you are going to play the full auto game... $15,000 is but a start. Ask the happy people at Knob Creek how much they spend to feed their habit?

EXACTLY.... What good is the ability to legally own FA when the other stupid law (no mfg of FA weapons for civilian use) is in place? Unless you have enough $$ to be able to throw down $15-20k on a weapon... Which is not many of us "normal" folk.. Bullshiat plain and simple..

Been wondering that myself. Suppose you could tap the hole for a small set screw and shorten the spring, but I can't figure any other options out.

True, but the registered M16 to go with that tax stamp is a "extra" 13 grand ish...

A case of ammo is about $300+ per 1,000 for 5.56 and at full auto... you'll be blowing away a case every hour easy with generous rest periods between mag changes.
Anyway, I am just saying, those guys at Knob Creek certainly don't mind it and that's what it takes to play the full auto game.

Heck, I hardly even shoot my centerfire guns anymore what with ammo prices being so high. Sure as heck not going to spend $300+ to make it easier to waste more ammo.
