Brand Names made in China

Why are so many popular names that used to be know as quality simply due to the reputation of the name, now having stuff made in China?

I recently saw a SOG knife advertised, when I looked into it, it was made in China.

Winchester, although I have never considered a Winchester knife, the Winchester name is known for quality rifles. Pick up a Winchester knife and it is made in China.

I noticed Gerber. Some Gerbers are USA made, other Gerber models are made in China.

What's the deal with this?

Re: Brand Names made in China

Dear Teej,

This is what happens;

When the bottom line becomes more important than the product.

When Knife companies are run by suits with degrees and not knifemakers.

When there is a disregard for the security, vitality and sanctity of American exceptionalism.

Just my opinion. But, this is not an opinion. It will never happen at Emerson Knives.

Best Regards,

Ernest R. Emerson
