There are countries that have 15 round magazine limits and they have AK mags in that size. Some are factory new but others are converted. In the US you might be able to find the 15 round Valmet magazines but expect them to be expensive. Otherwise there are plenty of cheap double stack 10 round magazines around.

These are for the Saiga, but can be modified to work in a regular AK. You can do this, buy 10 rounders, or you can make your own 15 rounders.

Would NJ allow one that had been made standard cap but permanently modified to accept 15 rounds, if so you could probably find someone in a free state to do the work for you. Maybe try a WTB ad here on GT

TAPCO or Cheaper than Dirt has +5rd followers intended to convert 5rd mags to 10rds. I would try getting a 10rd mag and one of those +5 followers and see what happens. Also do note that at least in regard to the 5rd and 10rd mags in 7.62x39 from China, they sometimes came in different body lenghts.

Thanks Ted. I had the same idea about the +5 follower about a month ago. I contacted Tapco and asked them if it would work in their 10 round mags. They took a few days to try it out. They told me that it would not work. They made it for 5 round steel mags and is too tight in their poly mags. The only 10 round steel mags that I came across were single stack. Do they have double stack 10 round steel mags? Thanks again.
