Right now I really like the P220. Buying the P220 in .45ACP costs about $820. Buying it in .22LR costs $500. The .22LR to .45 conversion kit costs $370. So for $50 more you could have both calibers.

Does anyone have experience with the P220 in .22LR? Will the conversion slide work like a factory P220 .45? This just seems too good to be true. Any advice is appriciated

It appears that most of the folks over on Sig Forum like the conversion kits. There are dozens of threads discussing them over there.

I dont have a P220, but I do have a P226 Elite in 9mm.

I got the P226 .22lr conversion kit shortly after getting my Sig. In short, I love it. Feeds everything I put in it (Fed Bulk, Win Bulk, Rem Bulk, CCI Mini's). And the accuracy is pretty good.

There are 3 downsides however.

1. The sights are not compatible with aftermarket sights.
2. Extra magazines can be pricey if you dont look around hard enough.
3. The slide does not lock back after the last round.

Overall I love it though. Its great for practicing your grip and trigger control. And it offers plenty of fun at a cheap cost.

Thanks that's helpful. When you say accuracy is "pretty good", what's that mean? Like an AR .22 conversion bolt accuracy? (aka not great) I HATE being able to outshoot a gun

I wouldnt say the accuracy is horrible at all. Its very fair imo. I wouldnt make it into a bullseye gun. But it is accurate.
