74 vs 47 - Recoil spring difference?

Is there a difference between recoil springs in 74s and 47s?

Does the 7.62 round require a stronger recoil spring and thus would cause cycling problems in a 74 built for the 5.45 round?

Okay, perhaps my question is answered on K-Var's website. They have a "Maintenance Kit For AK-47/AK-74" that includes a recoil spring.

One kit for both guns, so it seems to imply they will work in either. Sound right?

No difference. The recoil springs are the same. Some, but not all, 5.56 AK's have slightly stronger springs. The milled receiver AK-47 and the stamped receiver RPK's, both 7.62 and 5.45, have a tube type recoil spring guide. The stamped receiver AKM and AK-74's have a loop type recoil spring guide.
