I thought this was intersting. Not sure of OD RTF2 frames are common but I saw this on GB. Not a Gillie slide and I was aware of 21 RTF2 framed guns with straight slides but did not know there were any RTF2 textures in anything but black.

Apologies if this has been discussed. I'm short on time and wanted to post this before I forgot.

I think it's aftermarket.......aren't all the cases marked OD if that's the way they originally came (mine are)???

What I mean is the frame was painted/coated third party.....it was not originally OD from Glock factory.

Well, the number on the frame seems to match the number on the box label so I think it all goes together but I don't know as much about all that as some people so I could be mistaken about how that works.

It appears that frame was painted OD green. You can see the black showing through in some spots if you look close.

Yeah, now that you mention it, the description says "THE OD GREEN FINISH ON THE BLACK POLYMER RTF FRAME IS 98% AND WE ALWAYS TRY TO POINT OUT ANY FLAWS WE CAN SEE"

Did they used to paint them from the factory or is that someone doing it to their own gun? I thought ODs and FDEs were that color throughout the material so that might explain why I've not seen a RTF2 in anything but black.

No they do not paint Glocks at the factory. The factory OD and FDE weapons are made with that color of polymer.

What are the acceptable mods on an RTF2 G19?

I could never bring myself to stipple it. But are grip plug, night sights, smooth trigger install, and trigger job acceptable on the rare glocks?

Or is it frowned upon by glock enthusiasts, and seen as "defacing a mona-lisa?"

I don't know what's acceptable, but see above for pics of what is not!

I'm guessing I'm the one being spoken of... LOL
I'm not a glock purist, so modifying my glocks just increased the firearm's performance for me.
In the end, they are my guns. I'm not looking for "acceptance" into a group. Just wanted to share my two gilled glocks.

Fill your boots!

I carry mine, so rough, the finish, I dremeled it to bits, chewing up my cloths, and hands, shot it in an IDPA match on Sunday. Has extended slide release, factory, TruGlo fiber optic sights, butt plug, 3.5 connector. Glock 19RTF2.

Came top most accurate, at 78 YOA! Out of 68 competitors.

Told my Son (aged 50) that I shot one stage after going to both knees! He said WOW (No, I did not fall down) which he suggested!

My Guns are for shooting, not Safe Queens.

Your gun, but this is the collector's club section. That might mean different things to different folks. I shoot my guns too, but my RTF2 will remain stock (with the possible exception of night sights). I won't cry about it like I might with rare WWII guns when Bubba taps it for a deer scope. LOL

Who has a REF2 with Gills Glock, sorry, I just saw that as a question, not a Collectors corner kind of thing.
