My Holy Grail gun (G17 Gen 1)
Edit: More pics in post 5
Edit: Questions with pics in post 11
So ever since I shot my father's Gen 1 G17, about 19 years ago, I have been hooked on shoot. He unfortunately sold his to a pawn shop before I was of age to buy it from him, but I finally found one at my LGS. It's not pretty in anyway, but in 8 more days (CA) it will be mine. Once I get it home, I will strip it and post some more pics. I was able to get a really good deal on the gun, but I believe that is do to how many guns I have purchased with said LGS.

First two are CK. As for the magazine, I live in CA so I am not aloud to purchase a pistol with a standard capacity which would have came with the original.

Love the look of the stocks. I think I am going to have my Gen3 carry piece stippled just like that (keep the hump, ditch the finger grooves and thumb rests).
Congrats on the find.

Those boxes from Glock with the bullet holders built in are worth a pretty penny to the right people

First of thanks! Second, I need the help of the Glock pros out there. After reading some more on Gen 1 17s, I noticed that the original 17s came with black internals. I also read that some owners sent their guns back to Glock to have the trigger bar and connector replaced with non black parts. When pulling mine apart, I noticed the connector was black, but the trigger bar is a dull gold color. When looking in my other Glocks, I noticed that the new parts are all a shiny or dull silver.
Some my question is: Do I still have factory parts in my gun or is my "original Gen 1" not as original as I was hoping.
I am not asking to get a sell value, I want to hold onto this gun, but I really would prefer for everything to be as original as possible.

Very nice! My favorite. I have one from July 1986 that is still on the job. It shoots better than any Glock I've ever owned or been issued. When I find another Glock that I can shoot as good as this one, then I'll retire it.
