If after finding out that they do make a 1911 in .50, you begin thinking about how you can get your hands on one.

Even the 45ACP version is $2895. Did you see the price of the ammo?
Loaded Ammunition:
50GI Factory Ammunition
#GI300A 300gr. GI JFP 700 fps 20/rds. $14.25
#GI275A 275gr. GI JHP 875 fps 20/rds. $15.75
I too would love to have a .50GI.

If you're with friends at a restaraunt having a nice meal when a local "Anti" comes up to ask to sign a petition and begins to try to educate your friends about why guns are bad, takes one look at you and says "never mind".
(I had a chat with this guy a few days earlier and shot down every one of his arguements on why guns are bad. In part thanks to postings by fellow GTers.)

At first glance, I thought you said that you shot him.
Now, that would be a really devoted gun nut.

Nah, that would be a nut with a gun.
A real gun nut follows the law becasue a real gun nut knows that if he is arrested, it is very likeley that he can no longer be a gun nut. I like my guns!!!!!!

According to what I just read from the Houghton Industries brochure:
Quote:
Houghton’s origins date back to 1865 when Edwin F.
Houghton and Dr. Charles W. Lyon invented a process for
grease production from petroleum.
From 1870 onwards, ‘Cosmoline’ grease, along with ‘Cosmic
Counter Corrodent’ – a rust preventative – became Houghton’s
trademark products.

So, there you go. (consider this an early Christmas present... )

IF...you get mail from a local gun store announcing their new location and special guests. The invitation is marked "limited" invitation and requests an rsvp....

Disclaimer:
I do not claim to have read the entire thread, nor do I admit to having any conscious memory of same.
1: You might be, a gun nut, if your wife refers to your gun collection as HER retirement fund.
2: You have more than 5 firearms on layaway...at the same time.
