Hello Fellow Glockaholics,
I have a Gen 3 Glock 26 new never fired outside of factory.
The other day I installed an extended slide release and Lonewolf 3.5lb trigger connector. Now the slide will not go all the way on the frame. It stops about a half inch from "home" The only way I can get the slide back on is to press down on the slide locks. It seems she is hanging up on the barrel or the slide locks?? Any suggestions? TIA!

Your slide lock is not installed correctly. The spring on the slide lock lever goes against the top pin.

Have an armorer check it out if you have any questions.

Thanks, I believe the spring you are referring to is on the extended slide release.

I think the issue I am having has something to do with the slide lock:

Try pushing the trigger bar forward before you put on the slide.

Pushing the trigger bar forward has no effect. It seems to be hanging up on the slide locks / barrel?

Take the slide back off .. when you thumb the slide lock does it snap back down quickly and crisply?

3 things to consider:

1.Remove the slide, the rear of the guide rod must be in the slot closest to the barrel. Make sure it is completely seated.

2. The lip on the slide lock must be up and to the rear.

3. The spring on the slide stop must go under the locking block pin.

The rear guide rod is correctly seated. The slide lock is correctly installed. The spring on the slide release is installed under the locking block pin.

In addition to pushing down on the slide locks to bring the slide "home", lifting up on the front of the slide also seems to work. If I let the slide rest on the frame / receiver while sliding back, it gets "stuck" about a half inch from normal position. Lifting up on the front of the slide or pressing down on the slide lock is the only way I can bring the slide "home" I am guessing it has something to do with the barrel machining where it makes contact with the slide lock? At any rate, is this normal and will my new G26 "get better with age" and if not should I bring her back to my FFL? TIA!

UPDATE:

I installed a G27 slide onto the G26 frame and the problem is still there. When I installed the G26 slide on the G27 frame, it worked, so the problem is somewhere in the g26 frame. Lifting up on the front of the slide or pressing down lightly on the slide locks is the only way I can get the slide "home".

Put the gun back the way it was and make ONE change at a time.

When the gun stops working right at least you'll know which change is causing it.

Thanks, everything is back to stock and it still has the same problem.

I think the slide locks might be binding on the barrel?

UPDATE:

I replaced the slide locks with a new one. It appears the old slide locks had a slight ridge on it, causing it to bind up on the barrel when it engages.
