My Moms dog passed today.

My mom passed a while back, and now her little sheppard heide has passed on, she was a good dog. I will miss her, it feels like a little more of the old family is lost.

I bet they're together now. What a joyous reunion that must have been! Now they both can watch over you.

I can only hope they are together. I hope I'm lucky enough to have my faithful companions join me at the right time also.

So sorry for you losing a significant page in your life. Condolences.

Thanks Ossi, she was a good dog. Sweet as the day is long. My mom and sister found her at a shelter years ago. She had a good home right up to the end.

Sorry for your loss, you're not alone-
My wife and I had to put my best buddy "Bailey" of 15 years down about 2 weeks ago-we held out as long as we could-but he was suffering. The worst thing in the world is to stand in that room and say goodbye as the vet does his thing. I'll always miss him.:(

My father in law had to have his 18 year old Poodle put down last week too, he has been having a lot of seizures here lately. Old Prancer has been part of the family a long time, it is sad to see them leave, but I am glad that he is not suffering anymore. Along with the seizures, he was blind and deaf, and it was getting increasingly hard for him to get around.

He has been around a long time... When my FIL would be away on a trip, Prancer would get all depressed and mopey. When he got home he would start howling to beat the band. He would lick his hand for 20 minutes solid, it was a site to see.

I know how hard that can be; I've often said I care more about dogs than I care about most people. They're more innocent, and love unconditionally.
