Any one else use Audible?

I have become an addict. I have an 80 minute commute each way for work, plus a fair amount of business travels. Before I subscribed to Audible I listened to hours of talk radio dribble.

Any particular series of books, or authors people are enjoying?

Among many other books and series, I have been working my way through the Pendergast series by Preston & Child.

I average 16 hrs a week back and forth to work and I listen to audiobooks from my public library.

Every one of Michael Connelley's (sp) books have been excellent and are good at keeping the suspense going. Johnathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware books are good as well.

Dennis Lahane is another great author. Mystic River is one of my all time favorites and I want to listen to The Town. John Grisham is pretty good but he's taken a pretty liberal stance with some of his books. James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux books are pretty good but he's got a rather obvious hatred of the wealthy that comes through in several of his novels. I'm currently listening to Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series and they can be slow going at times but they aren't bad.

Way to expensive IMHO. Your public library probably has a free Audiobooks section and Cracker Barrel has an audiobook exchange program that would be cheaper than Audible.

They have no where near the variety. I have been doing audible for 8 years and would have run out of the library and cracker barrel 3 years ago.

Audible was too expensive. I either rip audio CD's from my local library or use their free online audio book system. Currently have over 40 books on my MP3 player. Mostly history like; band of brothers, the great bridge, 1776, army at dawn, the day of battle, war, Neptune's inferno, helmet for my pillow, in the garden of beasts, john paul jones, and many others. Currently working my way through Atlas Shrugged.
