I talked with his sister and got really sad news. This is what she posted on his facebook page,
"To friends and family. He had another stroke,on Sunday morning. He has lost his ability to speak and to swallow. He has directives that do not allow a feeding tube, ventilator, etc. Since he can't swallow his saliva is collecting in his lungs and he will get phenumonia. He can still communicate with thumbs up and down and he has chosen to go to Hubbard Hosoice House to die. They say it will be about ten days. Please pray for God to comfort him and make this journey go as painlessly as possible.:
I'm just crying right now.

He may have given up on himself, but that doesn't mean we have to too...God is capable...if HE wants skidoo to get better, he will. Either way, I will be praying for God's will...have faith that HE will either take skidoo home, or leave him here with us a while longer.

My heart is broken for you, my friend. I would guess that Skiddoo's greatest concern right now is for you, rather than himself. It is obvious how much he cares for you. I pray that God intervenes and heals him.

It runs the gamut. Incredibly sad, hurting for his family, glad I knew him, wishing I'd been able to spend more time with him, understanding why he made the choice he did, and a lot more sad and tears. His sister is taking this hard, he's the only brother she has left. So many people who know him have posted on fb today, he's loved by many. He's the kind of guy who'd do anything for you, and do it with a smile. I count myself lucky that he cares about me so much.

I've prayed for that, too, but I don't think it's going to happen. He was moved to the hospice today. I understand why he made the choice he did, but for selfish reasons I hate it.

That, he does. So much has happened since this thread was started. Several years ago, when I was 'into' guns, there was several guys who used to flirt with me. In fact, I could judge how well my latest gun was liked by the number of marriage proposals it got. Skidoo was one of the flirters, but was always so polite and such a gentleman about it.
After I got shot and later got rid of my guns, that fun stopped. In early '09 I posted in here that I was traveling through Atlanta, and he said he wanted to meet me. He admitted later he'd have never gotten past his shyness enough to ask had I never been shot.
We met, hung out together, and fell in love. We tried to make a long distance relationship work, but failed. Of course you all know about his first stroke, and his recovery from that. Ultimately our relationship fizzled, we broke up last year, but our love for each other remains. He's one friend I knew I could count on, no matter what. I can't tell you how much I'll mis him.
