Does he soft pillow chest tap lidocaine there first?
I am too, I've had enough side effects from other things... like anti-depressants. OK, soft pillow chest taps make it sound nicer than it is, but OK. And they aren't anywhere close to being nearly as bad as stopping a bullet. Trust me, that's in a league of it's own.

When I got the injections before they gave me some cream to rub on that numbed me some. I think it had lidocaine, but I'm not sure. I just know it helped. Because of the location the doc that did the injections one time handed me the cream to rub on, then complained that I used too much. "Ummmm, doc, I don't like needles, remember?"

Better a than a !

I sure wouldn't want to start over back to when I woke up in the hospital, but I do hope thisall helps get me healing faster. My doc says I'm making good, but slow, progress. I keep telling him I'm healing slow because I'm too damn old to go around getting shot. He always says he agrees that getting shot was a really bad idea. Gee, I wonder why.............

Wolfe the fact that you did not actually reinjure anything is a very good sign. You can expect strain and inflammation after doing anything that stresses your chest and that will probably last a long time and maybe the rest of your life. But the fact that you did not cause yourself a setback by carrying a light backpack is a big improvement. Be glad you were as careful as you were because you are much better off than you were in February. Be especially glad you don't need any more cartlidge repair. That would be a real setback.
.
Me have a twisted sense of humor???

Yep, doc told me I'll always have problems carrying stuff and pushing anything, etc. Plus the weather pains. Rainy season is coming here soon, I'm not looking forward to it.. I'm glad they didn't have to stick those bigger needles in my chest again too. I know they're better than having surgery, but that crap hurts!

I'm not sure where they come up with those figures of speech like "Sleep tight", but I slept for 5 1/2+ hours, so I don't know it I was tight or loose. But then I guess you could say the meds had me pretty tight. Or was that loose?............

How you been, Dusty?

Hey LW,

Hope all is getting better, sounds that way.

I'm not much of a public speaker or writer but I have used the practice of looking at my audience as though they are naked, it sure helps me. Maybe you could look at your Doc as he gives those soft pillow injections that way, or............

not.

Actually my doc's not bad looking at all. Too bad I didn't read this before I went in and got all my needle sticks. Oh well, I'll see him tomorrow.

I'm just glad he was kind enough to use little needles and numbing cream.

Signed, Pincushion

I'm not sure picturing someone naked while they're rubbing cream on your chest would be a good idea.

I see you survived those Soft Pillow Chest Taps. Hopefully in a day or two you'll get past the soft pillow chest tap discomfort and start feeling some results.

If you step back and look at where you are now on the sleep department vs where you were 6 months ago you are light years ahead. I remember nights you didn't sleep at all when you weren't knocked out.

Dear Pincushion,

I haven't asked you lately: Are your nightmares now more like you're watching a movie or are you participating? A while back you said they were going toward the former, with an occasional dream of the latter.

Do you ever dream about something else?

Regarding my previous post, remember "the Scream" during your sleep study?

I don't see a problem with picturing someone who'd rubbing cream on my chest while naked, in fact I rather like the idea... Now if I was the man and my doc was a woman there might be a slight problem there......

Of course if my doc had any ummmm, problems..... I couldn't see it from where I was laying.

Yep, I survived. Although right now I'm grumbling a bit........ not like I don't do that anyway, damn chest!

Wouldn't have mattered if it was. I had my a robe on that was just open far enough for the doc to do what had needed to. Sorry to disappoint you.

More often that not they're like watching a movie, but I get to participate or even be the star often enough to keep my head messed up. I remember the screaming nightmare I had during the sleep study. I have those a couple times a month on average. I had one a couple weeks ago and one while I was in West Virginia. The differnce between that one and having them in my chu is that I don't scare the piss out of any medics.

I've had dreams about other things, but not much, and they're not very clear at least when I wake up. I remember too not sleeping at all whan I wasn't knocked out. In a way I still don't, in that I'm taking heavy duty meds every night now to sleep. But at least I don't have to skip a night now.

Signed,
