Hey LW,

I hope you're having a good day and will have a restful night. I think you've given quite a bit to us GT'ers with the relation of your experiences and appreciate reading your words and also the responses of your well-wishers. Had the same thing happened to me I'd have been mum, or less than forthcoming, or inarticulate or whatever, but I would not have been able to convey my life as lived - which you have amply done! Thanks.

Heal, do well, and rest well,
Jefs

Sir you seem like a wonderful friend to have. I do love to read your posts in here. And Wolfe had better be reading them too.

QUOTE]

Thank you very much. You are too kind, and considering the kind of friend you are to our mutual friend, (the best kind, I think) I believe that makes us friends, too. And as your friend could I kindly ask you to please not refer to me as Sir? You've done it twice now and it sorta makes me nervous like I should be doing something other than the nothing I am normally doing, except when I'm doing something at work.
You could call me buddy, buddy-boy, buster, pal, dude, man, dude man, cool man, hey man, cat, cool cat, cool jerk, cool papa d, Jack, Jim, slick, fats, slim, bumpy, bumpster, boy scout, lefty, stretch, the weasel squeezer, schmuck, or meshuga goyim, but Sir sounds so formal.

Are you kidding me? When were you going to tell me?
You know I live in Detroit, born and raised don't you?
I read the Detroit News everyday, describe people by the car they drive, consider Faygo and Better Made a complete meal containing the 4 major food groups (grease, sugar, salt and #9 red dye), belong to the Detroit Blues Society, curse Detroit politicians on a daily basis, drank with Bill Bonds, write in Soupy Sales and Johnny Ginger every election, and breakfast at Lafayette Coney Island wearing kevlar. I'm from Detroit where leather jackets and sunglasses are formal wear.
And it's true, you are safer where you are now.

Goes to show there is always something you can learn about your friends.
Any other secrets? Do I know you? You're not the crazy, hot, cat lady who swung an axe at me on Halloween are you? Did you drive a truck into the Belle Isle fountain? Are you the woman who slapped Arthur Penhallow live on the air? I'm intrigued now. Wow. Homegirl.
It's like, ya know, ya never know... ya know?

But I promise 2 things. I will continue to pray for you, and I will learn to use the multi-quote function.

: back at ya!

Like I said, never thought of it as strategy. But your explanation makes sense.

I feel relieved to hear you say that because I'm so sick of feeling this way I just figured you would be sick of hearing it. You are so right about things getting worse before they got better. Back around March or April a shrink told me that would happen to me and I thought (and hoped) he was full of it. He was right though, and I kept getting worse until last month. I kind of did hit a bottom then, when desperate actions put me back in the hospital for a week. It seemed bad at the time, but it was the best thing that could have happened. I feel like I've started to climb that mountain, although I have so far to go. And I'll agree that not breaking any more fingers is progress. This one that I did break hurts!
You just can't imagine what that means to me right now. Knowing I'm not alone here means so much to me. Last night I went to the hospital for my night's sleep. After a couple days figuring out what dose I need the PA has been knocking me out very quickly. The doctor tells me that's good because it's common for patients to fight the effects if they go under slowly. Well last night they had a problem and I only got a partial dose at first. The doctor started fussing at the PA to hurry and get it fixed. I laid there for a few seconds and felt the effects of what I did have starting. After a few seconds I opened my eyes and saw what appeared to be 7 people around me that weren't there moments before. Just like when this happened before I couldn't make out faces, but I got the feeling 5 were men and 2 were women. Not that it matters at all. When I tried to reach for one they all put hands on me and I felt something that's hard to explain, but it was positive. I don't know how long this went on, it seems like maybe a minute or 2, but then they got the rest of the meds in me and that was all.

I mentioned it to the doc that was there this morning and all he said was "That stuff we're using causes hallucinations". I like to believe that's not all it was.

One thing about it that sticks with me, especially when I remember Beware Owner's post made simultaneous to my first seeing these visions is that one of the figures standing over me had a glass of something in his hand that looked like orange juice.
I don't think for a minute that it was just hallucinations.

And I will stomp you if you give up even if they don't help!

OK Sir. as a friend I should respect you request not to call you Sir. So Sir I will stop calling you Sir. Sir that means I will choose a name from the list you have so kindly provided.

Sir I have decided that I will call you Bumpy.

Lets see, its now documented that Im crazy, but the only time you could consider me hot is when Im walking around Baghdad in the middle of the day, and I cant have cats here. (except Mandy, of course) Plus Im not allowed weapons.
I never slapped the Godfather of Detroit Rock and Roll, but I did share a beer or three with him back in the ago. He even signed my D.R.E.A.D card for me.
Ive been to Belle Isle, but stayed dry. I remember the old Hudson Building, the Detroit Free Press, Boblo Island, East Detroit, the Big 8, barhopping in Windsor, drag racing on Woodward (and Gratiot), the Dodge Main Ski Team, and Greek Town before they enclosed it. I was born in a car racing down the Chrysler Freeway and I lived just off Outer Drive in 67 so I got to watch the race riots from my roof.

I haven't even seen the Murder City in 15 years......

Thanks, slept good last night, thanks to my doc. I'm glad I have people like you in my corner.

MB-G26, that was sweet. Thank you

I got up from being knocked out for the night and had to see my shrink for another non-productive session, then I also had a heart stress test and breathing tests. They don't usually do both on the same day and I'm feeling it. Owwww. Luckily they gave me something for pain before I left. For the heart test they put all those Frankenstein wires on me and have get walk on a treadmill to get my rate up and hold it there for several minutes. Today I had to go to 160 and hold it there. They're looking to see if I have any permanent damage to my heart. I hope I don't, it was fine before. I was told the highest they will have me get my heartrate is 170 because of my age. That means I may be almost done with that test. A few more weeks

For the breathing they are concerned with lung capacity and all that good stuff. I have more trouble with that one because all the internal damage in that area makes it kinda painful to take deep breaths. So without realizing it I've gotten in the habit of breathing shallow and faster. That's not good for me at all, my doc has been trying to help me correct that.

I'll say this though, if I had to choose between the physical pain and the emotional and mental pain give me the physical stuff every day of the week. I can deal with that, it's the stuff in my head that's just too much.
