There is a reason why Dale Jr. is the most popular driver in Nascar.
Yup...his name. His is a C class driver with an A class last name.
If he had the same talent level and his last name was Jones he would have the fan base as big as Scott Riggs.

I'll take Jr. out of the mix and throw in Mark Martin. Ever hear of anybody talk negative about him? There is a reason. Than man is a mediocre driver with more class than any 2 of the other drivers in the sport combined. That is what makes Martin and Jr. so popular and well-liked.
Mark Martin is no where near mediocre. He actually has brains and talent unlike JR.

Kyle Busch is very talented. He wins races. But, he chokes in the Chase. And he is a jerk, no doubt. His fans are just Jr. haters and/or front runners.
As far as the guitar, I thought it was disrespectful to TRY to smash it like that. But, he won it so I guess he can do what he wants to with it.
In what universe is Mark Martin a mediocre driver?
Maybe "mediocre" wasn't the best word to use, but the guy has never won a championship and doesn't have a history of being as competitive as some other drivers. I was using him basically to illustrate my point that you don't have to be the best to be popular in the sport.

I suppose that's why Kyle Petty was so well liked. I'll say the same thing about Jr. that I said about Kyle Busch, love him or hate him, he can drive. He may not be the best but he is good enough to stay in the sport and gain a huge fanbase. Don't even try to use his last name as the reason that he is so well liked. There are numerous other drivers with popular last names that couldn't hack it.

Kyle can drive, but he totally lacks class. Yes, Jr. is an Earnhardt, but he is also a talented driver. Imagine being Sr.'s kid and having to try to fill those shoes. I understand why Kyle smashed the guitar, but it could have been handled a bit better. Smash it a bit later. He barely posed long enough for pictures before whacking it against the ground. Again, he lacks class. Maybe he should take his lead from other class acts such as Carl Edwards or Mark Martin.
Just my 2 cents...

Douchebags liek Kyle Bush are one of the reason's I gave up on Na$car. The sport jumped the shark about 10 years ago. Somebody let me know when they start racing again.

Kyle Busch is a race car driver. He's all about winning, period. He doesn't hang around to be interviewed when he doesn't win. Wearing the correct hat and sunglasses with his Coke Zero bottle with the label properly turned. Thanking his team and sponsors for the awsome fifth place car. To him you either win the race or you lost and there is nothing to celebrate.
Yes, he can be abrasive. I would rather have him than all the other drivers that are more worried about getting on TV to plug their sponsors. He is a winner. He can drive the wheels off of a race car.
I agree that Dale Jr. would be nothing without his name. He is no better than Riggs or Menard. He had another pit screw up yesterday. The guy is a joke.

Right, because he stomps off and pouts like a child. That's being a sore loser, not a racer. Carl Edwards is a racer. After crashing at Talladega he got out and jogged across the finish line, just for the sake of crossing it. He goes all out to win. Yet, he is a good sport when he doesn't. That's a racer.
Carl Edwards
You mean the guy who has chokes and punches people.
He even put his hands all over Matt Kenseth as he stuck a fist in Matt's face.
Yep he's sweetheart.

I agree that his deal with Kenseth (IN 2007) was not cool. But, he did not punch or choke him. And, to my knowledge, he has punched and choked no one. Who hasn't lost their temper and gotten into a heated confrontation before? There is a big difference between that and being a pouting little douchebag every time you don't win.
Kyle Busch has a chip on his shoulder. I'm not sure why, maybe because he looks like Pee-Wee Herman, I don't know and really don't care. But he is an *******. His brother Kurt got off to a rough start in his career, but has since matured, and is actually one of my two favorite drivers.
I tell you that Nos is a braincell killer...Kyle's living proof!
