My hubby had convinced our girls that he'd be cleaning his guns when they brought the guys home.
SO...when our oldest daughter was on her way here with her first boyfriend that she dared to bring home, she was warning him of what her dad would be doing when they arrived.
In the mean time, as a former "daughter", I told my husband that the more he "liked" the guy, the less interesting he would be to our daughter. So, he heeded my advise. He showed great interest in the guy. (no guns were present.)
Within 2 weeks, our daughter broke it off with the guy. When she did, he was more shook up over losing my husband than my daughter! He said to her, "Gee, I never had a dad like me as much as your dad did!" My daughter.... was 
Worked like a charm.
My daddy was the King of objecting to boyfriends. Therefore making them VERY interesting to me.

I keep telling myself to be patient. It's better she have her first boyfriend while at home then at college.
