I've been trying VERY hard to "Listen to your heart" this week...
But it's been very hard.
TOUGH week for me.
I've been sick...(not my best birthday week ever)
Lot's of new duties and responsibilities at work...no new pay....more responsibilities added with each passing day.
Lots of praise from my boss to me.... but there comes a point when you feel like
WHAT more CAN I absorb for you?
God needs to help me decide, soon.

I feel oceans apart from my major career....
I have been given "phone numbers" quite frequently to call when I'm "ready" to go back into my field.
I love what I do most days....but lately, I'm feeling the pull back to my field of study....I was working on my Master's Degree.
I'm thinking I'll take the phone numbers to work with me tomorrow.
One number would require me to not live with my hubby.....I'll start with the ones that will allow me to continue to live at home.
I love my co-worker/friends. They say "no way" when I speak of leaving.
We shall see.

He hugged me when I asked if he was going to raise my pay back to what it was two years ago and said , if it were up to him, my principal, he'd do it in a heartbeat. But he claims it was a district decision. (No one else buys that.)
I temporarily lost some responsibilities, but have regained ALL that I lost and twice as much besides.
I am really beginning to feel like I'm a fool....in SO many ways.
I love my students....MONEY isn't the only factor...but it sure helps pay the bills.

Food for thought or just my opinion but not advise:
Sometimes you have to stop and ask yourself what makes you happy but only you can answer that question. You can get input/feedback from those who are really important in your life (and hopefully support) to help guide you but in the end the answer is yours alone.

I know what you mean I had to take a pay cut about 2 years ago and now I make less than I did when I started this job 6 years ago. But I enjoy my job and the people I work with (well almost all of'um).

I know what you say is so true, Ray.
I have crossed this path before. AND I have chosen education over health care before.
When you KNOW that you have touched the life of a child, and there are DEFINITE "AHA!!!" moments of feedback with children when you know that you have, there is NOTHING more rewarding than that moment in time.
I've been choosing the children since 1998. I could have chosen health care at any point in time....but I've chosen the children continuously.
I suspect I will keep on, until the Lord sends me a clear sign to go back the other direction.
