The Red Cross Dog.

He passed on today.
He served nine years.
Taught classes for humans and pets.
Cheered people up.
Was a great buddy.

He beat the first cancer.
But a second took him.

Shalom.

Your post sure brought back some memories G
Mine didn't even beat the first round of cancer, I knew when her time here was coming to an end but I never expected it to be so hard.

"Waiting at the bridge" Comforting thought.

Focus not on the loss, but all the love he brought you while alive.

My last 2 dogs and current dog are Golden Retrievers. He is getting ready for Halloween. Sam thinks all of the kids are here just to see him. He patiently waits at the front door and gives us two barks when he sees people coming up the walk. The younger kids will give him a hug and the older ones a pat on the head. He loves it!

Sorry for your loss. I am on my 3rd golden. While they are prone to back and hip issues, shed like nobody's business and don't live that long, they are just big brown bears who seek nothing out of live other than to give and receive love. Mine is 8 and has bad hips and back and I will soon need to carry him upstairs. I already gladly pick him up to take car rides. At 92 lbs it's no small feat. I would do it if he weighed 500 lbs though

G, I am so sad and sorry for your loss! They are the best of friend to us. Their unconditional love and acceptance of us is priceless. When we lost our little guy 2 years ago, the only comfort was that he suffered no more. God bless our furry friends.

Sorry for your loss.
The teaching he helped with lives on.
The cheer he gave to others will live on as part of them now.
