LONG BARREL FOR G-29 : Who wants one?
I have been bugging JR , the owner of Lone Wolf, for 8 months or so to make a batch of non-ported extended length barrels for the G-29.
Lone Wolf currently makes an extended ported barrel that is about 4.8 inches long... slightly longer than the stock G-20 barrel.
A NON-ported barrel the same length would make the G-29 about equal or better performance compared to the G-20,, which would be nice for hunting , etc. (He says that is about the max length for the G-29).
He said that if there were 50 or more people interested in buying one of these, that he would consider running a batch for us.
So if any of you G-29 owners are interested in one of these extended barrels, respond to this post and when we have enough responses I will let JR know so he can check out the thread.
He says the price would be around $100.
Lone Wolf makes quality products at very reasonable prices.
SIGN UP BY POSTING 'YES, I WANT ONE'
Thanks.

marvin22 I had wrote LWD several times about the 9X25 Dillon conversion for the G-29 in the longer length but without the ports cut in it. Simple enough just don't cut the ports, Right!
here is the answer I got from JR! I wish they would take their customers' suggestions more seriously!
"Wade
Unfortunately we do not offer the barrels the way you have described. Basically, you get what we have to offer the way it is, sorry.
We do Glock parts pretty good.... not sure our luck would work with any other gun.
JR"
I would consider a Long Slide & barrel combination to fit the G-29 with 10mm barrel & 9X25 Dillon conversion barrel without any damn ports.
BTW, Storm lake does offer you a longer 10mm barrel/40S&W conversion barrel/357 SIG conversion barrel choices with or with out ports, threaded choices too!

I'm interested in a longer 9x25 Dillon barrel for my G29SF. Is having the ports that much of a downside with the 9x25 Dillon? What are the advantages, if any?

Mr Wasabi The ports are suppose to help with muzzle rise but the down side is flash and powder residue in your face, not to mention the sonic crack(BOOM!) I would rather just have the straight barrel with the extra length to keep this out in front of me and shooters around me!
I went to the range this evening and tested some 9X25 Dillon loads, from my S&W1006 with a Bar-Sto conversion barrel. I will need to refine the loads some more.
I posted the results here on the GT 10mm reloading forum.
The 9X25 is a nitch calliber and takes some time to set up properly and develop loads for it. Not much data exist and that which does is spec'd on 8" barreled test, the pressures are in CUP. I am trying to work with some powders which are not in the data I have collected but are being used for 357 Sig.

Thanks for the reply Shadow,
Do you lose any velocity with the ported barrels with the gases escaping earlier/powder possibly not completely burning? If so, the ported barrels dont make sense to have in calibers that may not recoil that bad especially when shot through a G20 or G29. Yeah, they look cool but I'm with you and would rather not have the flash and powder all over the place.

I would be interested!
Would there be enough support for a longer barrel in the glock 29 that long? There would be more velocity. Would I need a spring stronger then the stock 29 spring firing full power 10mm loads through it?
I would be happy with the stock 20 length of barrel. I'm not sure of the physics but it wouldn't be supported near the front of barrel so if it gets to long there could be issues with support, warping, etc?

I'd buy one. Alternatively, why can't a gunsmith cut down and recrown a fullsize bbl?

I'd be in...But
What I really want is a Mdl 20 barrel and slide set up for my Mdl 29.
It's just my preference...I know I can accomplish this via Robar on a Mdl 20, which will most likely end up taking place.
What say you?...Oh Guru's of GLock knowledge?

I took it upon myself to reduce the grip on my first G20 to G29 size.
I can use the short ten rounders for carry and the mag "fillers" on 15 round mags. Works fine. Its a "G29 Long Slide!" I honestly did that. Probably wouldn't be too expensive to have done professionally.

Finally here it is.
Originally a Gen.2 with frame upgrade.
Target night sights will be replaced with
xpress sights. 100% reliable and carry-able.

Because the barrel lug is different on a 20 barrel than a 29 one......I think. It's been a while since I have compared the two.
Ok, yep they are:

Hey guys....
When I saw this thread, I had assumed that no long barrel for g29 existed, but I was wrong. mercury0_0 seems to have a long barrel for g29 already..... See this pic in this thread.
(See : http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=999911 )
What barrel is this ?
EDIT : I did some research and it's a storm lake barrel.
EDIT : they make 3.78 inch(stock), 106mm, and 4.48inch barrels.
EDIT : It's 175$. Is that too expensive ? Is LW barrel going to be cheaper ?

If you contact KKM directly they will sell you a longer G29 barrel. I have two, one threaded and one not. They are both roughly 5 in. (can't remember exactly) and 100% reliable. You can also get 6 in. G20 barrels from them. Bx3
