Ammoman.com just shipped my 500-case of Speer 54234 357SIG ammo
http://www.ammoman.com/p/304/357-sig...ow-point-54234
...and they have lots more in stock.
Ordered it Sunday; UPS has it today, and I'll have it probably Monday.
Am waiting for SGAmmo.com to get Winchester Ranger Bonded back in stock; will try that too.
I guess I'll be carrying factory ammo for PD if either of these is as 100% reliable as my reloads.

Very nice, I just saw them last night and bookmarked that page. I haven't dealt with them before and was a little tentative to order.

Original (stock) Lee 3-piece die set. I set the seating/crimp die to have a distinct pressure at the shell's height without belling the case--but then I run ALL my COMPLETED reloads thru an empty .40-cal sizing die anyway.
As you can see, I outside-chamfer all case mouths; that seems to help them feed more easily. All my reloads, with XTP124s, Barnes TAC-XP125s, or Montana Gold 125HPs, feed and function absolutely perfectly. Both former loads achieve about 1400FPS 10-foot velocities from a 5.2" barrel; my practice loads* achieve about 1300FPS.
* in which I use all the powders I bought a pound of and then rejected for PD loads. Currently I'm consuming VV 3N37.

I might give that outside chamfer a try. I've used up all my universal for targets. I'm trying out accurate arms #5 now. I do have a lb. of vv3n38 but with no data for 357sig.

The first 500-case arrived today, on schedule. I write 'first' because I ordered another 500 last WE...and after manually cycling 61 cartridges thru 4 magz of my 31G4 and having them function perfectly, I ordered another thousand this afternoon.
Ain't they perdy!!!!!!

Ordered 500 rounds of 'Canned Heat' from Georgia-Arms for practice, last Monday, Jan 28th. According to UPS, they are arriving today.
If you're interested, the web site will not let you order; however, if you call and speak to a customer service rep, you can place an order. When I ordered mine, they indicated it could take 4-8 weeks for the FMJ; the Speer HPs would take longer.

jeffreybehr, That should hold you till the end of the month! He, he, he... LOL
Those Speer casings have smaller flash holes than any other make, I drill them out to be uniform with other makes!
It seems not as many people are using this cartridge as they once did!

Shooting results
Tested these Speer GoldDots #54234 this afternoon using my Glock 31Gen4.
Velocities at 10' average screen distance, 10-shot samples:
...With 5.2" StormLake barrel--1384FPS, SD 6.0, ES 20.
...With stock 4.6" barrel--1356FPS, SD 3.0, ES 12.
Recognizing that Speer quotes muzzle velocity (1375FPS), these numbers make sense. The Standard-Deviation and Extreme-Spread numbers are VERY good.
Expansion tests in a series of four 1-gallon waterjugs with 4 or 8 layers of denin taped to the front of the first jug, shot from 10 feet:

Lightest bullet weighed 123.4g; the 3 averaged 124 grains, which makes the weight loss less than 1%. 'Diameters' were 0.58", 0.60", and 0.62 inches. The 4 versus 8 layers of denin made no apparent difference.
Muzzleflash is virtually nonexistant.
I shot about 40 rounds; they functioned 100% reliably. I'm pleased.
Also, my experimentation with these GoldDot 125s, the Hornady XTP124s, and the Barnes TAC-XP125s show that all 3 bullets perform excellently, and I'd be proud to carry any of them. Now, I'll be carrying the GoldDots.

Awesome report!! Thanks. I guess your water jugs don"t become ice jugs there? Freezing rain and snow here tomorrow......again....

YVW.
No ice in Phoenix; it rarely gets down to freezing. But when it's maybe 80dF. in Penn., it's maybe 110dF. here.
One added point--over the years I've shot many GoldDots into waterjugs; they are highly consistent in their expansion and weight retention.

I am amazed at your results through denim. I have never seen over 0.56" in expansion through clothes for factory rounds, and I believe the FBI testing in gel through clothing was in the mid .50". The Underwood round does expands to about 0.64", but has much more velocity.

Have received all 3 shipments from Ammoman.com, and they have more left! Get 'em while they're here; I have a hunch they'll be a long time coming after these run out.
I think I'll be selling (here) the Barnes TAC-XP 125g. bullets on the right.

I just received a 50rd box of the 54234. The OAL for each round varies a lot. Half of them measured 1.134,the other 1.127. The 20rd box(23918) that I have all measure 1.126 and function fine in my gen4 g23 out of a stormlake barrel.I'm half tempted to seat the whole box of 54234 to 1.126 and recrimp. I might just fire a few of the longer bullets first to see how they function. They do seem to have a little wider hollowpoint though.

All I know is that my new #54234 ammo functions perfectly in my 31Gen4.
BTW Ammotogo.com has Remington 357SIG Golden Saber Bonded 125s in stock by the 50box...$40...or the 500case...$396, both plus shipping. I ordered a 500case.

I ordered a 50rd box a few weeks ago(month wait). And SGammo has the pdx1 which is the same as ranger bonded.
