The smell of Gold Dots
Anyone notice Gold Dots (in this case 124+P) have quite a strong powder odor? Almost like some of the Russian stuff (Brown Bear in particular, but not as stinky as that). Doesn't bother me but I find it interesting that almost nothing else gives off that much odor.

Hmmm I have never noticed it. I will pay more attention to the smell next time.

I used some 2 year old GD stock recently and didn't notice anything. But the 4 year old AE I just used, now that stunk. I kept thinking I was being sprayed by a skunk. So I get what you are saying.

I love the smell of Gold Dots in the morning.
Edit: I fired thousands upon thousands of GD's at work on indoor ranges and never noticed any inordinate odor.

Can't say I could identify GD residue, but two of my favorite odors are Hoppe's #9 and burned gunpowder!
(I DO have a couple other favorites, too! )
