For People Wanting the Master Grade Slide Lock an Option

Frankly I am not convinced it did anything but here is an option...
http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx...55950&CAT=3695

According to Glockworx "Extended Titanium Slide Lock Bar, Locks up slide tighter than factory part, yet is easier to remove slide for cleaning and maintenance of your Glock. *May not work on some holsters"

Also the standard one which makes the same claim of locking the slide tighter than the factory part.
http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx...M=slide%20lock

If someone gets this I'd love to see a real test from a Ransom rest.

I haven't tried any of the aftermarket slide locks, but Brass Stacker makes a really high quality recoil guide rod, and he also makes slide locks:

JUST RECEIVED ONE OF THESE FOR MY G19 GEN 4.
The cut is much wider than the stock lock thus you can push the lock side to side. If you go to Glock parts the spring part number is different than for Gen 1,2,&3. Also I think the Gen 4 spring was made stronger. Unloaded if I shock the gun the slide rattled. I threw the part in the parts draw without ever fireing the gun.
I notified Brass Stracker about the different part nunbers for the different Generation Glocks which they were unaware of. Maybe if you have a Gen 3 Glock all these after market parts will fit it. For me I have wasted too muck money on after market parts. It stock parts only with the exception of sights.
I sure the firm would refund me but to return a $12 part with postage and the hassle its not worth it to me.

Interesting. The different size frames have different slide lock springs, but Glock only makes 2 slide locks; SP01788 for the G36, and SP00301 for every other gun, including the Gen 4s. So in theory any aftermarket slide lock should fit all the guns except G36, where it will protrude too much.
If you want to sell your BrassStacker slide lock to me and can accept PayPal, I'd like to try one.
How much wider than stock is the part? Does it protrude enough to make holster fit an issue?

gen 4 spring #SP08073
gen 3 spring #sp02317
I measured the notches and the gen 4 which is narrower.
The aftermarket is 3.mm the gen 4 is 2.52mm
http://glockparts.com/Products.aspx?CAT=5205
They make 4 different springs see weblink. I know some sites do not show the new Gen 4 springs .
The slide lock is the same width as the stock but the design is ingenius. It slants out, top part is almost flush with the frame, which makes it much more easier to grip and pull down without makeing it wider and screwing up some holsters. If It fit I would keep it in a heart beat.
The lock up section for the barrel lug is 1/2 the width of stock and this is where the accuracy claims come in.

Above parts pulled from full size frames, new G21 Gen 4 on the left, G34 Gen 3 on the right. You can see the 8,000 rounds of wear thru the G34.
On these full size models, regardless of Gen 3 or 4, the springs & slide locks are almost identical. Only the tail end of the spring that engages the slide lock has a different curve. Both slide lock springs measure approx. 2.43mm wide.
So, if the Brass Stacker (or other aftermarket) part has a 3mm notch, it will allow ~0.5mm lateral movement. However, the barrel locks up vertically in the slide lock, not horizontally, so there should still be tighter lockup. The lateral movement might be disconcerting, but I don't see how its going to effect function.
Looking at the wear pattern on my G34, I would say that the narrower lock-up notch on the Brass Stacker (or other aftermarket) part probably does make for better lock-up. The strip that's worn is significantly narrower than the notch on the factory slide lock.

So, if the Brass Stacker part has a 3mm notch, it would seem that its going to be too wide for any Glock.

I emailed the web link I posted and part numbers to Brass Stacker never hear anything back. I think we are both comming up with the same numbers. I measured the notch not the width of the spring since I did not want to be bothered taking it out of the gun. Your number is probably more accurate than mine but we are in the same ballpark. I know my measurement for the part is 3mm because you can literly push it side to side with on finger when it is installed in the gun. I would not want to fire this gun with live ammo with this amount of play.

Let me ask you a question? I watched a dvd on fitting a Barstol barrel to a Glock. The areas to file or stone for a tight lock up were the back of the hood and break the corners and the bottom of big flat lug on the bottom rear of the barrel. It seems the hood locks it in place and the bottom lug pushes it up into battery. These are you points to increase accuracy according to Barsol. No mention of the part or lug going into the lock. If this part did fit I doubt it woud do anything for a fitted barrel. Maybe for a stock barrel but your wear marks are in the same place. so your lockup seems to be cosistent. Plus if the gun got dirty its still going to work. Would like to know what you think.

As per TR Grahams MGSL, he states the more precise slide lock notch give consistency versus tightness. Yes it is tighter but primarily more consistent. I had one of TR Graham's products and I think they work. Whether this one in OP does, well I guess it will cost $12 +shipping to find out

dont know how messages work on this board but if you send me your name and adress I will mail you the one I have if you want. When you get it just put $6.00 in an envelope and mail it back to me. I will have my name and adress in with part. I dont think there are different models of part. I asked them before I ordered it. You mayu want to contact them first.
