They should just copy Florida's statutes and be done.

Nah, Forida's kinda sucks. To expensive for one, too much mandated training required, for another. Way too many restrictions.

Copy Wisconsin, Virginia, Alabama (make it shall issue though), Washington, Pennsylvania (make it shall issue though), I can think of a number of others.

The more you let them screw with it, the more convoluted it will become in years to come. Mandate training and before long it'll be 40 hours and only given once a year in one location. Don't let them get the chance.

Alabama no training required
Washington no training required
Virginia hunting safety course is all that's necessary, once
Pennsylvania no training required
Wisconsin no set training required. They're generally doing 4 hour classes.

No fingerprints is a good thing
No prohibition against carrying in bars, restaurants, government meetings other than courthouses, airports in the non-cleared section, Universities, would be nice as well. Avoid the whole "if you paid to get in you cannot carry" idiocy like some states have.

There are others.

Re-read what I wrote, I know it's shall issue. Has been since the 60s.

Been in Florida all my life and must say this would be great for Illinois, but we are not the end all.

If they just want to copy and paste another State's provisions, let them copy Vermont's, or Alaska's, or Wyoming's.

It's not really training more than it is simply a time consuming class.

The gun show classes are a hoot!

I agree, not exactly a representation of the State of Illinois. Mostly Northern Illinois politicians.

I think they could look at any of their next door states and do just fine. The more compatible they are the easier it is for people to cross state lines without problems.

I'm actually fine with this setup. Load it up with too many idiot Dems and it'll die a quick death. Then come May, Constitutional Carry.
