Just realized that all three were made in 1983-1984.

And who was President at that time?

And I remember at that time, the world's media and most of Europe was CERTAIN that Ronny Ray-Gun was going to start WW-III by standing up to the Russians. . .

So what do we get? Three WW-III films about how nuclear was was going to wipe most of us out, and if you survived, you would be eating rats for dinner.

To me it looks like "scare the sheep" propaganda disguised as entertainment. . .

The worst is yet to come friend. When the US abandons Israel then the Daughter of Babylon (the US) is next on the list to go down the drain. Russian defectors estimate there are many unaccounted for Suitcase Nukes in strategic locations in the US at this time to take out major cities, oil refineries, power grids, and such. This country runs on oil and now we have few reserves. When the gas pumps go dry....folks will die....no food to be delivered....panic....no way to escape....unless you walk out and lots of folks would likely try to do that. Nightmare.

Honestly and I think there is some proof out there , that the Reagan Administration had some heavy control over the TV and Movie industry back in the 80's. Remember Reagan was president of the Screen actors guild before he got into politics.

Just look at these two 80's movies

Stripes - 1981 - Its was a screwball comedy about Army recruits, however for them to get access to Military equipment and locations the Army had pre approval and actually changed a lot of the original script. They wanted to make it more patroitic and pro Army recuitment.

Top Gun - 1986 - Tell me that was not a Navy recruitment movie and the Navy also had script approval. This was completely the opposite to "An Officer and a Gentlemen" which the Navy wanted no parts of.

Also Alexander Haig - Reagan's Sec of State From 80 to 82 somehow ended up as a consultant on Red Dawn in 1984

These are just the definate documented ones, but you wonder about all those Rambo, Chuck Norris, Arnold movies, if basically they re-tweaked the scripts to be pro-american and anti Soviet Union in order to get access to military equipment, advisors, and locations.

Some of it was good and bad. What 80's propanganda did was got us out of thinking every Vietnam Vet was a Baby killer, and that the Communist were nice.

I would think that every government that allows a film maker to have access to military bases and military equipment would want the films to reflect positively upon the government. Nothing new there.

I would believe that a film maker would hire advisers/consultants for their expertise - whether the expertise is in accurately depicting facts or gaining access to government facilities. Nothing new there.

If you research WW2 training films and US government propaganda, you will learn that "Hollywood" "donated" a lot of the technical expertise and personnel.

Ronald Reagan - made training films as a reserve officer. He became President of the Screen Actors Guild when it was in a death struggle with the studio bosses. He brokered a deal (and the Supreme Court antitrust decision broke the back of the studios). He was an excellent propagandist for General Electric subsequently and toured the country for years giving factory speeches. So, I guess he was controlled by the military/industrial complex.
