THAT is how you set up for GSSF!!! I use a large CED competition range bag but in all honesty, it's the best bag Ive found for USPSA but it's nothing near what Don has there, that's an excellent setup. Of course I only carry 4 mags per entry, 16 total, but im working on getting another 32 to round out my typical four entries. How about a link to your gear Don? You've peaked by interest.
On a side note if you're going to be shooting Beckley Saturday morning and you need mags let me know and I'll bring a couple extras that you can borrow for the day. I'm shooting my IPSC open division G22 (40) on Saturday in UL so four of my G17 mags will be freed up that day.

I know I will not be shooting Beckley this weeken as I am on hold for Cataract Surgery. It was supposed to be done this past Monday 6th but my surgeon had to change it till Aug. 20th. Hopefully I will be healed and ready for Conyers, Mobile, Lexington and San Antonio. Good Luck this weekend.

I will see if I can get a pic posted of my inner bag setup by itself. It is very comfortable to carry on the range as opposed to the entire big bag. Having the big bag set up this way means I always have all I need for a match in one place ready to go.

Thanks for the info on the bag. I'll look into that one; Uncle Mike's is good but there's always room for improvement. Bama Trooper-I take your point that, based on your job, the holster makes sense.

I took a peek into the excuse book, and Mike has highlighted #107.

I'm 68. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I had a shooter come up with his Glock, floppin' around in a small burlap sack. Seems another RO allegedly told him he couldn't use his Glock box - had to be holstered or 'bagged'. Of course an organized and concerned RO would have no idea if that gun is really clear, or where the muzzle's pointed at any given time.

Like I say, I could write a book...

I have one of the large competition bags from Midway.
Its a great bag. I did like the advice about bringing a
folding chair.

Will it offer a solution for 50-60 mags?

Important items often overlooked:

rain gear
bug spray
sunscreen
eyeglass cleaner
hand cleaner
water
non-chocolate snack bar--chocolate melts real bad
folding chair
ball cap
extra ammo
lots of money

That bag is identical to the MidwayUSA competition Range Bag that I have, it is a great bag. The midway one is less than half the price of the Shooters Connection one.

Probably 30 at a time...functional but not fashionable.

I would much rather carry 30 mags on my belt, than in a range bag over my shoulder.

Currently I use 2 (Wal-Mart) plastic sport-gear boxes for gun(s) and mags, but would certainly entertain a system like this that transfers that weight to my belt. I can carry on my belt all day long.
