Sad news
I know so many of you were friends with -- or simply enjoyed posts written by -- the man you know as Woof.
I know him as Ed, my former boss who became my good friend. And I'm sad to report that he passed away Dec. 1.
Reading his posts here, whether written in his own voice or that of his beloved golden retriever, reminds me how extraordinary this man was. From his most excellent adventures to his most straightforward opinions, Ed’s intellect, moral convictions and brilliantly dry sense of humor really come through.
His wife asked me to let you all know of his death. She and I both are very much aware of how much he enjoyed the camaraderie here.
I’ll pass along to his family any remembrances you’d like to post.

All my heart, and prayers go out to his spirit and to his loved ones...

dang...was looking thru some old posts to put in this thread, and i found stuff that always made me smile at least, laugh a bit, and...never an unkind word to anybody.
i took the liberty to put some things together...hope nobody minds...some replies and such. if it is a link, its CLASSIC WOOF that i couldn't possibly attempt to duplicate.

Oh dear Lord in Heaven........
I can't believe that this is true.......
I know he had had a stroke, and was not in the best of health.
Woof was one of my fave buddies on this board and I am shocked and really saddened by this thread and his death.
I am sitting here with tears running down my face.......I am stunned and so saddened right now........there just are NO words for me right now.....
He lived life to the fullest right to the end (remember his recent threads about his trips with his faithful Golden buddy????)
In classic "Woof" style he did not let on to any of us that he was in more ill health than any of us realized. I think we all thought he was on a re-bound. I had no clue.....none at all.
My thoughts and prayers for his wife at this sad time.

I remember a few months ago when someone posted that Woof would be returning to GT.
so many nice replys were posted in eager anticipation for his return, I remember thinking, 'he must be one heck of a nice guy'.
and now, this.
my condolences to his family.
