Where do you shoot?

As far as public ranges go. Lead Mine conservation area in Dallas County, and Pistols Plus in Osage Beach are great places. They have a very nice 6-lane range, and an awesome firearms museum, and supposedly the largest LGS handgun display in the state.

I shoot at a private club in KC.
(Pioneer)

For the indoor range, I have a key and can shoot 24x7 when there are no events going on. I was there before 8am this morning, all alone......

When I shoot outdoors, I usually shoot at the public range near Ash Grove, Andy Dalton, $3/per hour plus they provide the targets. They remodeled it and it is pretty good.

There is another outdoor one, Busiek State Park; however, I tend to not use it. It's unmanned and many amateurs will go there to shoot and many are very relaxed with their safety skills. It's not very safe when there are many people there.

Indoors, usually at Bass Pro.

I live in the sticks and shoot on my own land.

In a month or so, a new range will open in Lee's Summit MO. Looks darn interesting. Frontier Justice is the name and it has a web site.

Well, Frontier Justice opened January 14 and naturally, I was there to check it out. Really nice place, definitely upscale, coffee bar, clothing, all kinds of accessories, lots of guns both long and short. The ranges were great, I shot the pistol range, others were shooting on the tactical range (rifle and pistol) and the rifle range. Computer target set up, programmable, well lit (adjustable including a strobe function) and flipping targets if you so desire. I'm only hitting the high points but have to mention the ranges are climate controlled - I could shoot in shirt sleeves, that was nice. Anyway check it out. If you do facebook, there is a public access facebook page. I know I'll be there often, it's just up the road apiece from my abode.

I've driven by Frontier Justice plenty of times. I never knew what the heck it was. I always thought it was some sort of corporation. I'll have to check it out pretty soon.

How are their gun prices and selection?

Anywho... I usually shoot at one of the Department of Conservation ranges.

Prices are good; selection is petty darn substantial. Nothing used that I saw and I haven't priced new guns in a while but all in all seemed pretty reasonable. Other folks might not feel the same so stop in and check them out. Can't comment on weekend crowds shooting as I'm retired so I, along with others, shoot during the week days.

I had plans to be up in the LS area this weekend and was anxiously awaiting the planned stop at FJ....but they got derailed at the last minute.

Maybe in a week or two.

Red Barron - sorry to hear that. This Friday and Saturday is the official grand opening. Raffles, drawings, classes, reduced range fees. Should be good time for all. Next time you're in town, give a look-see, well worth it imho.

A regular visitor and shooter at Frontier Justice these days. Good selection of rental handguns and rifles even an MP-5 and an UZI. Watched a few fellas burn through the 9mms with that pair. May have to try that MP-5 in the not to distant future.
