Bad Designs We Live With

Why is it that the spout for so many bathroom faucets are two inches or less from the back edge of the damned bowl? Who thought this was a good idea? You have to hold your hands against the back of the bowl to rinse them and usually end up flooding the counter around the faucet. It is a stupid design.

So, what else in our day-to-day lives is badly designed, that we have to put up with?

I don't know why clock radios are so badly designed, but they seem to be deliberately awful

cup holders around the gear shift . . the one that really sucks is the one in my mini , its up near the air vent and it swings left or right . and you have to move it to get to the radio controls .

Sinks with motion sensors. They never work worth a crap. You have to continually wave one hand in front of the sensor while you rinse the other hand off then switch. We have them at work and they annoy the crap outta me.

Every time I get home from Lowes and use my bathroom, I cuss about forgetting to look on the faucet aisle for this very reason.

It's an inexpensive design contractors install in new construction. People just don't switch them out for good designs.

My bedroom has a ceiling fan right next to an air vent in the ceiling. So the blades overlap the vent. When the fan is on and the air/heat kicks on, the air blows through the fan and makes an annoying noise.

It is still a stupid design. It wouldn't cost much to make the spout a little longer.

Same here. Mine doesn't make noises, but every time the heater or A/C comes on, it spins my fan.

It only makes noise if the fan is on high. Kinda like talking into a desk fan to alter your voice.

My buddies spare bedroom had the light switch in the normal spot on the right as you walk in the room. The problem was, the door opened to the right and you had to enter the room, go around the door to get to the switch. I think the builders were drunk. We replaced the frame and door with one that opens to the left.

What is wrong with this picture?

The Okie Corral

Every house I have ever lived in that had washer/dryer hookups, had the washer on the right, yet my washer door is hinged on the left and the dryer is hinged on the right, so the doors open into each other and I have to lift the laundry over the doors to put it into the dryer.

The human knee is developed backwards.... Imagine the possibilities!
Most public restrooms are designed for six foot tall midgets. With the ADA toilets and the handrails with the paper dispensers beneath them. Or the paper towels across the tile floor on the opposite wall. Or for public use and have keys with hubcaps attached to them. And they are ALWAYS FILTHY!!!!!

TV remotes. To many of the buttons require a secon hand because they are at the bottom of the controll.
