Thats ridiculous. They are going to be 9x23mm Winchester in service and compact sizes. This is the gap in the market place and it makes sense to fill it. It just takes the market nous which Glock is famous for.

Well, that or a 380ACP or perhaps a single stack 9mm or a carbine. We can be sure it wont be another boring .45ACP as hardly anyone wants them except for a few Americans.

Interesting. If that outline actually means anything it will be the same shape as a standard Glock minus finger grooves....if it means anything. What I get from that is it will be small so it has to be smaller than a G26/27 for sure. A single stack Shield/XDS sized 9mm would be great, but if the wording means anything, it should be a .380 that will compete with the LCP,BG380,P238,P3AT,etc...

Assuming that the two overlapping pictures are of the same scale, a person who owns a Zippo could give us a size approximation. It will not be accurate because there is more than one zippo size.

Wow that's great news, can't wait for the shot show pics of the G42. Wonder if it will be a 9mm, or a .380 Auto.

If it is a .380 I will not be interested. If it is a 9mm I will be very interested.

I'm really excited to see what exactly this is. Along with the other model they are supposed to drop. Not much interest in a single stack .380 or 9mm but none the less it's a really smart move for Glock. Can't wait!

I see no need for that caliper in a glock. The only reasoning I can see is $. They are hoping to cash in on the already saturated .380 market, at a time when .380 sales are down as 9mm offerings are getting smaller in size.

Glock seems to have done a decent job of at least stirring up some rumors and discussion. I believe some suggest there is no such thing as bad publicity and this is certainly better than alot.

My guess is it will be a G36 frame chambered in 9mm or .380.

I just don't see it being a .380. If Glock wanted to introduce a .380 to the US market wouldn't they just start building the G25 and G28 in GA. ??

I'd buy the hell out of a Glock Zippo!

A single-stack 9mm, not so much. I still don't get the hype.

because there is no such thing as a one size fits all pistol. judging by the handguns trend lately, it is obvious there is a big market for them.

You know I'm seeing this comment quite a bit. Nobody wants a G25 or G28. They are not near the size of a pocket .380 which is what the G42 could be.People arn't asking for any ol' Glock in .380, but a very small pocket sized model like offered by many other companies out there.

Looking at my Zippo and comparing the picture to it, it would be a jumpy 9mm if it's to scale. I'd like them to come out with a 9mm in a Shield/XDS size, but a small slim .380 size 9mm, no thanks.

The only thing that comes close is a Kimber Solo which is picky with ammo , quite jumpy in the hand and has a recoil spring assembly that has a very short life span.

I've yet to have anyone point out a pocket 9mm the size of a .380 in length, height AND width. I've tried the pocket game with a Shield, XDS, G26,LC9, PF9 and other slim 9mm pistols and no way could I do it comfortably. I know I'm not the only one either.

Took a picture of my Zippo on top of my BG380

I have it on good authority that it's a single stack 9mm/.40 with a thumb safety.

Glock designed it to compete directly with the Shield.
