Your first car?

What was your first car?

I drove a 97 Rav 4, maroon, 4 speed auto 2 liter I-4 that had just about zero power. Hand me down from my mom when the trade in offer was insultingly low.

Of course her first car got to be a 71 chevelle. Ah well. What were you all driving for your first car?

I think it was the 1964 Mercury Montego 4 door....150 bucks, and ran good on regular gas, 23 cents a gallon at the time( aprox. 1971).

lol, 2nd vehicle was a 1946 Lincoln....

3rd was a 1955 Chevrolet....

Out , I is, is I ?....

'81 El Camino. 305, automatic, maroon, and I still have a thing for El Camino's. I love those things like no other car/truck.

1991 Toyota Corolla 5 speed. I drove it six days until I wrecked it.

Then I got a 1981 Cadilac Eldorado(in 2002). It was a boat and got 8-12 mpg with 93 octane gas or it pinged. Gas was like 1.25 a gallon so it didn't matter.

It had a big old back seat and was all leather inside. It was white and beautiful. I dressed up as a pimp in a 1970's leisure suit I got at Salvation Army for Halloween my senior year. I picked up a couple hoe's and had a great halloween. It was an amazing car, then I got a Jeep Wrangler.

I got the Caddy brutally stuck by myself on some snow/ice and it took me 6 hours with a shovel to chip/dig myself out. I vowed from that day forth never to own another 2wd as my only means of transportation. That was 11 years ago and I stuck to it. Drove Wranglers for 10 years and now I have a Subaru.

A 6 year old 1969 air cooled VW Beetle. As cars go, they are really primitive, but it got me where I needed to go. It sure beat riding a bicycle.

A used 69 VW bug I had a blast with that car but it was just not made for the way I drove back then. I melted a valve and had to rebuild the engine, then I melted a piston.

1984 Ford Tempo.

ETA: Despite my best efforts, I didn't lose my virginity in that car, but I did (eventually) drive it to the relevant apartment.

1994 Ford Thunderbird V8. Got it at around 85k miles. Blew the transmission at around 115k miles. I can't believe it held up to my abuse that long.

Not MY first car, but the first car given to me TO USE, by my parents was a peach 1988 Plymouth Reliant K-car with faded paint and an all maroon bench seat interior. Electric door locks, manual windows and mirrors, no cup holders. My father had purchased it new, two years after my birth. One of the piston rods got bent when I started it in -15 degree weather.

The first car I bought from my father was a 1995 Subaru Impreza L FWD. That car saw some stuff...
