The shelf-life of Twinkies has always been a popular urban myth. I remember seeing a 'How its Made' that explained the process of manufacture, an expert said that the product was designed to be sold within two weeks of manufacture, and consumed within twenty days. However, it seems now they are aiming for something fit to be put in the 'Three Lies in One' AKA MREs.

I'm a little surprised that rocks, hair gel, soap, rocket fuel, and sheet rock would have only a 45 day shelf life. Must be that sprinkle of flour and mega dose of sugar bringing it down.
