Vintage 10mm Hydra Shok ammo

I've had this a while, found it at a True-Value hardware
store in Tennessee around 2005. Box is dated 1989.

big difference in packaging then and now.

Is that older box 20rounds? That was an expensive box of ammo. I just picked up a box of 20 Ted Nugent 10MM 135gr JHP for 22.99.

low power 10mm ammo in any box is still low power 10mm ammo.

Cowboy meant for the Hydrashok ammo.

Let us know how that 135 Nugent shoots. I saw it a while back and was thinking of picking some up.

Lets hope the older 180gr -10MM HydroShok bullet is different than what is used in the Older 40SW180gr HydroShok ammo .
I pulled 3 bullets from older 40SW 180gr HydroShok and loaded them in my STI 10MM, velocity was 1300 fps . These were shot into wetpack and the bullets came apart.

I don't plan on shooting them, they're a
paper weight on my desk. I e-mailed Federal
and they are indeed from 1990.

Looks fine to me. Typical "cup & core" JHP style performance. BPLE looks the same when dug out at the morgue.

They were not intended to be ran that high. About 200fps too fast.

I paid 12.99 for the box I bought at True Value in 1990, and I thought that was high.
