I will not buy or use a 1911 magazine that isn't flush fitting and I think Tripp magazines are the best 1911 magazine, so the 7 round flush fitting Tripp magazine is it for me.
They make flush-fit 8-rounders. Kimber Kim-Pro Tac-Mag. Simply don't screw in any of the base plates and it's flush-fitting. Worked well for me, no problems. Can't vouch for anyone else's gun, though. Not all 1911s are created equal.
My response was sarcastic, by the way. I was sure you already were aware of such radical improvements in .45 acp pistols.
