+1 for the p30. I have a v3, and while I am getting used to the da trigger, the sa is excellent. The pistol also feels awesome in the hand. My other 9mm is a g17,which I love as well, bit the p30 is soooo much nicer. It I my first h&k, but not my last!

Good luck
Mo

Rather subjective,.......the capacity and grip of the P30 wins me over.
The P7 series is a great carry, but is not the holy grail of CCW

I've read that there have been issues with the P30L in 9mm. Some underpowered 9mm ammo doesn't cycle the slide with enough power. More of an ammo issue than a gun issue. Either way, sounds like a very familiar problem.......(glock).

I would get either the USP/c V1 (which I have in .40), or the newer P30s. I don't like the LEM trigger or the DA part of the SA/DA trigger, so I would get one with a thumb safety so it can be used in Condition 1.

My Dad has the P30 and I shoot with him all the time and there is no better ergonomic pistol out there. I own a 2000sk and wouldn't trade him for it. I am extremely accurate with it and I've never had any problem. I like it better than the P30 for conceal carry. Both are accurate, reliable and soft shooting so you can't go wrong with either.

H&K techs will request you to put 200 rounds of NATO or 147gr through it to break in the recoil spring assembly. H&K maintenance procedures then call for its replacement at 25,000 rounds.

DA/SA USP full size is my favorite. It has a better trigger comparing to my other 9mm HKs.

My dream gun is the USP Elite...if I can track it down.

Don't know if this is too late to help but after going through a Glock ,M&P, and a Springfield , I settled on a HK P2000sk in .40 , it. Came with the LEM trigger I upgraded to a LEM light which gives me a lighter take up and a ultra crisp 4.5-5 lb trigger, the HK is my ccw gun,and I have Sigs , Glocks and Smith revolver to choose from

H&K P7.
I have run timed drills using a shot timer with my Glocks, CZ's, and 1911's.
I can draw from concealment and shoot double and triple taps more accurately and consistently on target with the P7.

Remember the P30 as a "internal lock"

Its just like the new S&W revolvers. Its located inside the magazine well. Mine was very easy to turn to lock on and off. I decided to stick with Glocks for self defense as that lock is just one more thing that might go awry. However its never jammed on me like my Glocks have at times. If a internal locks bothers you migth ought to look at other options.
