I want to mod my g26

I have a g26. I already put some guntape on it, but now I want to add something more. I don't want anything too crazy, but if anyone has any suggestions how to enhance the function of my glock, please post!

Is there something specific you don't like?

I had some difficulty releasing the mag, so I installed a Vickers mag release. I didn't like the "hole" in the bottom of the grip, so I added a grip plug. I am going to install a smooth trigger since this isn't a target gun. Possibly some TFO sights. The trigger seems fine for self defense use. Other than those things everything else suites me fine. I carry IWB so grip tape is out for me because it would rub on my bare skin.

As far as performance, a trigger connector would probably tighten up your groups some, with a lighter trigger.

I would only make a change to enhance the weapon.

Step 1., GLOCKs need better sights. After that, the best mod I've made for my G27 is the GAP base plate. I also like the Wolf steel dual guide rod system, though it does slightly effect assembly / disassembly because it is not captured.

You can use grip tape, and carry ISW if you get an "cross breed super tuck." None of the gun touches your skin.

Is it a carry or a home defense item?? a small GOOD laser
is a good idea for either carry or home defense...

IMHO there's only so much you can do to a glock to make
it work well...other then taking classes and getting more
range time..

My GF look at nite sights and you can start a day long debate
on them.. In a SHTF event most people don't even look at
their sights.. they do more of a point shooting... and thats
where a laser might come in handy...but remember nothing
beats RANGE time and shooting under stress... we shoot
at nite and have different drills to bring our heart rates up..

Our sights don't come into question... But in saying that she
is still putting on Trijicon HD night sights on... cost for the
sights arent that much and when it comes to self defense
other things also come into the picture...
a good flash light or a light on the firearm
laser....

again these add on will depend on the person and how they
want to use the firearm.... But above all Nothing beats
Range time... again that's just my .02

I carry a g26 and my boyfriend keeps his g27 in a safe for home defense. I might show the laser to him. Are there any tried and true ones that you suggest? I don't want to spend my money on one that doesn't work. Also, can you send some links to for some of these exercises you mentioned?

Its strictly a matter of preference.. i don't use them but my GF seems to have
her heart set on one (after using her friends)... I told her she needed to Master
her glock by itself.. without anything attach to it... then she could go to other things.
The reason is because people at time start using these things like a crutch.. you can
pick up a nice set of Night sight for about $130... a good laser will run you twice that..

Another thing to keep in mind is Electronics at time fail...and the cheaper the easier
they are to fail..

Drills> trigger control is one of my biggest pet peeve...I bought my Gf a laserlyte
LT-TT Trigger tyme pistol. ($30) its about the size of a standard glock, also weight
but my selling point was the 5.5 lb trigger pull... same as our glocks... it suppose
to work with a laser sight to train... but i didn't care for that and the money for the
laser and laser target was a bit high.. plus they didn't get good reviews... but the
training pistol is great.. she practice just about everything inside the house and
doesn't have to worry about neighbor calling the cops.. LOL IMHO its a great
training tool and you cant beat it for the price.. i pick one up on ebay, but amazon
has them for $38.... as for drills... we have a private shooting range to shoot at and
that's why we get to shoot at nite... and we get to run
like crazy doing all kinds of drills that most ranges
wouldn't let you do...

IMHO... get more range time and find a class (always review them)... You can also
go on Youtube and find loads of drills...
We run one thru the house with our firearms at nite (unloaded) just to get a feel for
how and when to use a light... also learning when to stay PUT!!!... its never a good
idea to go looking for the bad guy.. even in your home...(just something to keep in mind)....
Look for drills that get your heart going... running from one distance to
other... then shooting at target up close...

But again above all... RANGE TIME!!! shoot as often as you can and always go with
a game plan... oh we also do a lot of training with our
AR... she prefers her Ar over the glock and to be honest
she a killer shot with that AR ....

She is working on point shooting (instinctive shooting) and like
it, but you have to work on it..

Bottom line> do you need a Laser... IMO i don't think so, but
if something give you and edge and makes you a better shooter
without always falling back on it... then heck get one.. Same
goes for Night sights.... Again IMO nothing beats a good
flashlight with low/high and strode setting... but that's my
.02 cents.. I would never tell my GF what she could use and
what she couldn't use... I'm not stupid LOL

I would recommend a good set of night sights. I like my Trjicon HDs very much. I am also a flashlight fan. Do a search for recommendations depending on your budget, but lot's of bright white light can really be your friend at times.

Night sights are great, I like the stock glock night sights.
I'd recommend glockparts, or rockyourglock what ever you buy and where ever you order from make sure their in stock, some back orders have been taking for ever.

On my G26 I went with Factory Night Sights, Talon grips (rubber), plugged the grip and Gap Floorplates on all my magazines.

Trjicon HDs have great reviews and a lot of folks use them... but again with that
being said... Practice with your firearm and become good with it before adding
bling to your Glock... and for those of you who have nite sights... have you tried
them in the middle of the nite with no lights on... they don't
light up like some claim they do...

Now they are nice because it makes you aware of where
the gun is at

Oh and if you do decide to get some... Call around and see
if someone has them in your area and what they will charge
to put them on... Some places don't charge anything as long
as you bought it from them... something to think about
