STI Edge 40 S&W set up

For those of you who have been using an STI Edge or something similar, just want to ask what spring combination has worked for you.

recoil spring weight?
main spring weight?

So far, I've got 14 lbs variable wolff recoil spring and an STI factory main.

I have a 17lb ISMI main spring which I was thinking of installing. Is that good though?

im using 15 mainspring but you should at least have a koeinig set, limcat extended firing pin and titanium struts and caps for it to be reliable.

i also have a lightened slide and tungsten guide rod. i liked 12.5 ismi recoil spring till i tried an 11 pound rs ismi. I may soon go 10 pounds.

Rule of thumb for ipsc shooters is the lightest springs you can go with 100% reliability

Thanks Jason,

How much lightening did you do on your slide though?

Wont you destroy the gun more quickly due to a very light recoil spring though?

I thought it was a revolver type front sight, the one with a gold bead. I've always wanted those.

PG,

Did you retain the recoil master or replaced with the full length guide rod on yours?

I intend to replace mine so I can tinker with the spring weight that best suited my loads but I wasnt sure if I needed one that had a bevel at its rear where it is close to the barrel link.

Long ago, when I had a 1911 single stack, these were drop in parts but noticed some now have a bevel while others dont.

Has anyone encountered this problem with sti mags?

The rounds appear to be crimping. This happened only after installing bolen 11coil springs and follower with ipsc wedge base pad increasing round count to 17.
