Are people really paying these prices?

Just checked gunbroker and basically people are paying $27 to $35 dollars for a box of 50 rounds of 9mm...

Havent seen 50 rounds but have seen 250 to 1000 and it comes out to $27 to $35 per 50 rounds on gunbroker...

Wow and i thought walmart raising there prices to $13.27 per box of 50 from $11.97 was alot lol... why are people paying these prices??? I have been buying my ammo no more then 14.97 at the most per box of 50 and well i thought that was expensive since they were cci blazer and american eagle...

Well,

if they really need the ammo, they'll pay the prices.

My LGS tries to sell .22lr (Federal bulk) for $7 per 50. That's $77 for a 550 round brick that used to be $20......

I was following an auction on GB where somebody bought 5k CCI mini-mags for over $.21 a round.

Last April I bought 9mm for $.20 a shot.

I think people are paying the high prices.

I went shooting at one of the local ranges today. There was a fellow at the counter buying ammo and some range time. The only 9 mm available at the shop was Remington Disintegrator which the shop is selling for $55 per box. OK he says, give me a box. After he moved to the range, I asked the counter fellow about his 9 mm supply and he said the only thing they could get at this time is the Remington Disintegrator.

Based on my discussions with friends, there is no ammo in the three counties around us. WM may be getting some but it is rumored it is going out the door with the employees who are reselling it. The LGS's have a few boxes but the prices are high.

There are some absurdly high bids going on 9mm ammo on gunbroker right now. Some people are totally desperate or have money to burn. Haven't decided which yet.
